Should i learn linux

I have a machine with linux on it, Red hat 6, but now have ADSL and a cd-write and a spare hrd disk should i install the latest red hat,

and is linux a useful prog to learn if yes how long will it roughly take me to get fluent on it.

The latest Redhat (7.1) 'supports' the USB ADSL slug (I assume that's what you have), but it requires a lot of faffing about with different packages.

Mandrake 8.1 supports it out of the box. Well... not quite, you have to download a file from Alcatel.

CD writing works out of the box for both.

As for how long it would take to learn... no idea.

Not sure why but I download all 3 discs of Mandrake 8.1 in 9 hours today

It took me 10 hours 4 minutes.
