Should I buy this game?

OK right so I heard a lot about this game Im gonna get SWG when its out but am soooo bored of waiting so thinking of getting DAOC

SO come on be honest IS IT WORTH IT??? Like I got prolly about 1-2 months if I really cane it will I get to lev max or wont I????

I here RVR is really gay cos u have to like run about 2 hours to get to the action then u get owned in like about 2 minutes which is a bit gay might as well play CS instead

IS THIS TRUE OR NOT??

also I heard they gimped one of the realms so like hibernia is just soo empty cos all the characters look really crap and theirs no good drops and like EVERYONE plays on alb so they rule so like its really unbalanced and stuff

I heard thought the good things are you get to meet nice peeps and stuf like that so might be worth it for that

OPINIONS PLZ??? :)

Yea you should buy the game, when i first played this game i was totally hooked, its very addicitve at first.
Grouping and meeting other people, exploring the realm and xping was real fun.
RvR is fun and no you dont have to run miles to get to the action, there are bind points inside the telekeeps, so you can be back where the action is within minutes.
As for the best realm that would be Hibernia/Midgard imo, Albion is a waste of time, Midgard/Hibernia have better CC, casters and tanks, and yea the Hibernia races are very ugly, Firbolgs look shite.
Been playing 8 months now and still enjoying the game( just not as much as before).
I doubt you'll make lvl 50 in 2 months but you'll still have fun.

You heard right, there is big homosexual influence in the game and the only way to have fun, is to roleplay a gay Lurikeen. There are nice people to meet aswell, specially female firbolgs, although they're a little bushy for my licking... errr, liking.

So yes, Hibernia have it bad with strange looking citizens. If you want fun, cyber with some briton lass or those highlander girls in skirts. Mind you, their men wear skirts also and shave their legs o-O

Midgrad! Ha! don't even go there. Unless manly women in bondage gear is your thing.




(If you'll start playing SWG in 2 months, it's hard to recommend DAoC now. Unless you're a serious powerleveller, or get to lv24 and play in Thidranki)

Do you seriously think SWG will be out in 2 months? Wake and smell the coffee.. You will have at least one lvl 50 char before that game is out.. and yes, it's highly addictive yet very fun, been doing it 11 months soon, still fun.

How do you know I wont make a good troll Mr Ivegotadaftname? I was thinking of rolling a troll if I get the game, maybe play Midy troll skald cos i here they 'run fast and twat hard' hehe

Thanks for the more helpful replies guys - I've seen some screenies and altho it doesnt look as cool grafx as UT2003 the game prolly is a bit more interesting so might have to get it after all

-hardly any cheats (so different from Diablo2)
-nice people mostly
-great game (still after 10 months)

Id say buy this game, its great fun, the guild stuctures, chat systems and RvR all make for great socialising online.

As for the realms, as I'm mainly a middie on Excal, Id call that, some great guilds, nice ppl, easiest of the 3 to navigate, good looking chars and IMO the best variety of chars too.

Alb is kewl to start with, from what I have heard from many ppl who have migrated from Alb / Excal, its full of big headded level 50s, leveling is bitchy, but the rewards can be good. Some nice peeps there too, judging from some of them on these forums anyway (Veeshan, Pin and others all nice peeps), another good all round realm. I like my theugist on Prydwen and my minstrel, but shes tough to solo IMO.

Hibs...tree huggers! Tried it once, boring landscapes, ugly chars (filbolg women, so ugly should be made illegal), their main City is down some 5 mile long tunnel for some reason, takes 10 mins to get there. Mainly a casters realm, but tbh i think a dwindling populus.

RvR is great, no you dont have to go miles, yes youll get ganked by higher peeps until you get a decent level. But there are practice areas called Battlegrounds, where from level 20-24, 25-30 and 31-35 you can get into combat with ppl your level, best part of RvR IMO, hence my 2 lower chars :)

My advice, buy the game, join a good guild, level asap, make lots of freinds along the way, its the only way to fly!

lol, can't imagine trying learn Daoc on the PVP server - most ppl there will be experienced players and learning the game from scratch with help from others is pretty tough at first.

If starting out on the PVP server /macro release /release

Shows what you know. Hib the casters realm ! LOL ! Eldritch's have the worst damage spells compared with Wizzies and RM's ! Hero's (Hib's main tank) are also quoted as being the best pure tank in the game.
You hated Hib, so everyone else must !

I have played Mid and Alb as well as Hib and personally Hib is the best (for me and lots of others). I would say try a couple of characters from each realm for a couple of levels and see which you prefer. And of course Hib/Pryd is the best ;)

I'd think either DAoC on Excalibur or CS is the right choice for you.
