Anyone know if Excalibur radeon 9000 pro is not working ok with DaOC. Downloaded latest driver.

I have 256 ddr ram and 2.4 gighz computer, adsl connection plus that vid card. Whenever I enter Svasud or get into emain or other crowded areas its like I move in glue. Relic raids I cant even move at all.

I have another computer aswell. Its an old pentium 3, 1.3 gig and an old 32 meg video card. That computer works much better. :(

I got the same problem with my RADEON 9700 PRO
comp specs:
2.6GHz
Radeon 9700 PRO
512 MB DUAL DDR RAM (2x 256)

... I got a friend that got a Gforce4 Ti4200 2.6GHz 256mb ddr and he got no lag, what so ever...

GOA - fix this RADEON problem, NOW!!! .. We were told that there only was a issue of torch problems in AC (they are still there btw)...

My performance in DAoC is crappy, compared to ANY other game... W3, I got max frames, no lag and I build faster with no lag, which means, more victorys!
Also in a regular FPS game like Counter Strike, I got max frames, even with 20 peeps, or more, ingame

In DAoC, I often lag if a stealther jumps me, it's not normal lag, it's more like 2 sec lag, before I am able to do anything, and as a caster, it's crucial that I get a mezz in on the guy, so I don't die of poison, or additional hits!!! Another thing is normal run (mincer speed)... I run from ATK -> AMG in Emain I lag (like 5 secs) when I pass the small hill (bout 53K, 57K)...

Another thing is hills, steep hills... I sort of can't climb them while lagging... so I get left behind the grp. Even sometimes when a full grp runs straight a head, up some small hills, pass some trees, or whatever, I lag a bit behind, not much, just as much, that after 2 mins, Im too far away to auto stick the driver... it's anoying to ALWAYS be the one that lag behind, only because some idiotic programmers didn't implement RADEON chip drivers into the game!
Excuse me for saying this, but I really feel like the job isn't completed, and never will be, if you guys don't get ya arse together, and implement the driver specs in the next patch!!!

Bad form guys, indeed, VERY bad form!

btw, so far I have checked heat problems, driver problems, cooling problems, anti alliasing and all that... hell, I even tried to up/down my CPU to 2 GHz and up to 2.8GHz, no luck with ANY of these...

well, if GOA, or anyone else got a good guide to get this working(instructions, readthroughs, whatever...) then it would be much appriciated :D

I read somewhere on an Official DAOC board, DAOC has problems with these Cards.
And they're working on it apparently.

Any suggestions of good cards not to costly that work well with DaOC!?

Think I will just buy a new one.

WEll the Geoforce TI4200 128mb is very cheap now, although it won't support DX9 features (which will be used by the up and coming DAOC addons), but it'll be a good cheap stopgap until Nvidia or Mythic fixes the problem with the newer cards.

And avoid the Geoforce FX cards for now..

Currently the GeForce FX line of video cards is experiencing the above mentioned issues with certain games. We are working closely with Nvidia to have the above issues resolved as soon as possible. One solution that has been known to help is to set the shadows option to "classic shadows" from the game menu options screen. Although the previous solution may help with the above known issues, Shrouded Isles may continue to be unstable with the GeForce FX card at this time. Please check back in the near future for updated details.

Based on that list, your card is supported.
SDo maybe you should look into the Rightnow database for a solution.

The more I think about it, the more I think itøs related to your connection speed.
How are you connected online?
Are you using BRoadband?
Are you using a router to share your connection?
Check your linespeed on your newer PC.

Did you have another video card in that PC beforehand?
Are you using at least DX8.1 (preferably DX9)

It's Anti Aliasing, and it helps remove the Jagged lines you get with flat surfaces that are drawn at an angle.
Turning it off won't harm anything, although you'll get more jaggies.
So try it and see if it helps.

What OS are you using?

I´m using win xp and the purchased this computer 3 months ago or so. The store installed the latest driver by that time.

I downloaded the newest none beta evrsion from the company that made my card yesterday and it didnt help. Might try one of the beta version suggested on camelot support pages tonight and see if it helps.

It also could be your Video card overheating.
Overheating can cause graphical errors.
Have you overclocked your card? that can cause your videocard to overheat.

I never OC my card, and no, it's not overheating... well it's hot, but not hotter then like 40degrees (I can hold my hand on,w/o burning)...

I still say it's GOA's fault, and they should get their arse together, and stop making false promisses! They say that SI can be run with a Radeon 9700PRO.. Well yeah, but also with a great deal of lag, bugs, graphic errors and in general, this shouldn't be happening!

GOA, don't make a game that doesn't support the best graphic cards, Im disapointed!

I work in a company, has both PC's and MAC's... (sucks tbh) ... Well the thing is, during my 6 month in this company, I've learned that getting both a MAC and a PC to work on our servers, is one hell of a crappy job!!! Like 80% of the company is working on MAC's... try imagining me, when someone calls with a MAC problem :"Boss, it's for you...!"
No really, I take up the challenge, and see if I can make the problem (or the user) go away...

But GOA, it HAS to be done, I know that it's maybe only 10-20% that has a Radeon card, but SI has to support Radeon anyway ...

This isn't yet another whine post, this is a call for help... I mean, Im sitting on a:

2.66 GHz Intel
512MB DDR DUAL RAM
Sapphire Radeon 9700PRO
19" monitor
one of the best cooling cases on the market (7 interior fans)
max temp on CPU is 38 degrees (30 idle)
max temp on GFX is 45 degrees (36 idle)

There isn't anything wrong with my computer, it has to be the game!!!

HELP!

You'll probably have to search the ATI site for it this, the link has probably changed.

Try the archives.
