Shield or parry

i just started athane and had a mess about on the catacombs char planner thing and im stuck wether to go shield or parry.
i was thinkinhg about going either:

48 stormcalling
43 sword
42 shield

or

48 stormcalling
44 sword
41 parry

which seems best to you or do you have a better final spec than these?

I would go with the shield-specc. It is, as far as I can tell, much better in both RvR and PvE.

Having a parryspecced thane, I can only advice you to go shield

Yup, i agree with Ardrias. I only got 15 in shield atm and block at a decent rate. So i just hope getting 42 in shield will improve this grately and i get slam too.

this is my spec and probably the best thane spec around
46 stormcalling
44 weopon
42 shield

works very well for my especially slam i love the slam

i'm 50 axe, 34 parry, 46 SC and 7 shield

Nice damage and all, but Sword n' board armsmen block like 1/2 my attacks, and when I mis, they hit me twice....

Gonna respec to 42 shield, 46 SC, rest weeapon and leftovers parry

In a 1 vs 1 fight against an opponent using styles, I will maybe block once.... Against someone using non styled attacks, like a cleric or ooe armsman, its a bit more often.... but that doesn't happen often
