Don't shave your balls with a cutthroat, DIY castration is not recommended for the novice :p

using a mach 3 at the moment, though I always have been wanting to go cut-throat, but they are just a bit too damn expensive :(

Has anyone ever had a cut throat shave? At the barbers?

I've been tempted because apparently the hairs dont go back as quick .. then they slap the lime on ur face!

Ouch :p

Mach3 atm but once my last pack of blades runs out i'm gonna invest in an electric razor as i normally shower then shave, or shave while in the shower :p

Am i the only one also who shaves dry, as in using no foam/gel just a sharp blade to cut through ? :)

And to above poster, if i were you i'd head into a barbers for a hot towel shave tbh, very good job they do and it feels so nice and smooth once you're done :)

maybe. i believe many people like to keep the cutting of their skin to a minimum.

Ever used your bare foot as a newly found plug socket ? Managed to somehow tread on an electrical plug when I was 8, the three prongs went right into my foot and I leaked bloody everywhere.

My brother did something similar, stood on a coke glass though which shattered and cut his foot into a bloody mess.

The difference was I was in a fit laughing at him while the rest of the family were going crazy.

I have used a cutthroat since I was 15 or so (31 now) and if I have to use a normal razor I end up with cuts plus the shave is never anywhere close to perfect as the cutthroat delivers. It can be risky to use though, you need to know how to sharpen properly and shave in a room where no one can come in and suprise you.

Or like savvy? Like with pirates.

It's where you take a blade to your throat without the intent of slitting it. :p

well i like mach3, the only part i dislike about it is the Price.! around 100,- danish kroner "10£" for a pack of 4-6 blades, so lately i've been concidering investing in a good electric razor. Now ofcuase initially it's a "semi large" amount mearly for a shaver "100-200£" but looking at it in the long run...;)

and one can always keep a pack around for tho's special days where a tight shave is required "weddings, birthdays, visits to inlaws and what nots :D

I use a mach 3 and its the best razor I've ever used

But for the ultimate shave, you need to go to a barbers and have a proper shave with a cut throat. You will NOT get a smoother, closer shave. Period.

I don't use moisturiser.

CBA

I have 7 items I need to pack for toiletries on holiday.
1. Toothbrush
2. Toothpaste
3. Aftershave
4. Shower gel
5. Razor
6. Shave gel
7. Deodorant

My wife takes 798 items - even if she's going out for a bit of lunch with the girls.

As a man, I believe in keeping it simple.

One less thing to worry about.

personally, i've been considering a DE razor and using a brush and old school shaving soaps for a while now, because my grandad has used it forever and always has a closer shave than anyone else in the family who uses other things - be thet electric or mach3 or 'other'.

personally, i use a mach3 turbo, an aloe vera shaving gel and then a moisturiser designed to repair the skin.

Personally I use my hair clippers most of the time as I dont like the nancy clean shaven look. For a proper shave I just use a razor with some hot water.

Interesting artical

I feel he is going a little bit over the top though to be honest, I really doubt the badger brush makes THAT much differance, but the rest may make sense.

Personally I also use a mach 3 and have always shaved before going in the shower.

I may try switching around to shaving after the shower instead, and might give my dads old DE razor a try too, its one of them old classic sorts he's had for years, he uses a mach 3 also now so he wont miss it :)

It *ARRIVED* !

This morning was my first attempt :)

Popper shaving cream (in a tub not a can)
A badger hair brush (not my fingers)
A double-edge razor

Damn was it a smooth shave, well worth it, and it can only get better, its just going to take some time to break the lazy mach3 habbits hehe
