Shar question

Prolly a noob question but here goes

Can shars be ns's? Been attacked in bg1 now twice by the same dual wielding shar from stealth but I didn't think shar's could be ns's - ofc could be a ranger but then why melee attack a solo merc? surely better to pump a few arrows in first which would hurt due to lack of merc shield type block defence, not like I was chasing or anything...

Also during last nights fight I got the message "xxx (don't remember name) uses Nadurtha gauntlets" - apparently I resisted it, but what is it?

he problly had a charge of something on the gloves. dex/qui decrease or smth.

shars can be Rangers, but not Ns's, maybe he specced no bow for BG 1 and went full meleee/stealth

NS's cant be shar, altho Rangers can
