A few weeks ago I had decided to run ML1 - ML9 raids. ML1 went quite OK, we did it in the previous patch. ML2 was a pain, but that was due to having around 60 people in the BG. However I had to cancel the ML3 raid yesterday due to people going LD all the time. We literally had to do each step 2 times.

I'm not giving up that easily and I'll try to continue with the raids, I have already arranged to redo ML3 on Thursday, however I'm afraid that if the situation remains the same, it's completely pointless.

Presumably, 1.71 was supposed to fix any lag problems that we have. Goa is apparently solving its connection problems. Mind you, I'm positive that it can no longer be said that we (the customers) have connection problems, it's completely goa's fault. However nothing has changed, things are getting worse every day, and I'm toying around with the idea of just canceling.

I like this game, I have tried WoW, imo it's nothing special but let's not get into that kind of discussion. I want to keep playing, and if it wasn't for the friends I have on Excalibur, I'd make Merlin my permanent server without a second thought.

So how about fixing your service goa? Enough bullshit about it's not your fault. I pay you, not opentransit!

Before 1.71 the lag was server sided (ToA zones being located on the same server for Midgard/Albion I believe).
Now the lag is due to Opentransit. As Mythic lacks any balls and does not stand up against a company owned by their parent company, we will be stuck with this lag for a while :(

If enough people cancelled subs, even for a single month, it would seriously damage GOA's bottom line. It would also show intent on behalf of this community that we have had enough! Hitting companies with financial penalties is the best way to get results. If we were to do it in serious numbers, GOA would be knocking the door down at Opentransit to get it fixed. If they have any sense they would be looking a reclaiming lost monies as a direct result of the problem. We as a community have given GOA more than enough evidence to back up any claims they would have against Opentransit.

Would be ineteresting to see a poll on how many people would cancel for a month.

My feelings exactly (although you could probably substitute Gaheris for Merlin).

I think the mod's are all part of the E&E team and therefore all part of the GOA collective, expect no sympathy from them ;)

Got pingplots ?

yep:) , not that it makes a blind bit of difference. I'm sure they go straight in the /bin at GOA.

I don't think this is entirly true for all people, I ran a pingplotter for two hours on Sunday, when the lag was especially bad for me. From that, it turned out that the worst offending "hops" were, in reverse order:

4th - NTL Manchester-London (max 5% PL)
3rd - Opentransit London-Paris (max 7% PL)
2nd - GOA wanadoo Portal (max 15% PL)
1st - Excal server (192.252.177.33, max 20% PL)

I mentioned on /gu that most PL was from excal, and I wasn't alone.

I did try and send traceroutes and pingplots to GOA, but it seems that Wanadoo have competition from Hotmail atm, so couldn't access email account - will try again tonight (assuming I can get into hotmail, that is :( )
