shadow complex help!

ive just got passed a section where im bombarded with rockets, and i manned a rocket turret and blasted the shit out of everything.

crawled through a few bits and bobs and ended up at what seems to be the end of a production line. there are crates coming along a conveyor belt towards me, and it looks like i need to get across the belt and up in to a shootable vent.

however, the crates keep coming and i cant get through. what the fuck am i missing?

ive been up to the top and killed a few people but there is no way to stop the conveyor it seems.
