Sexbox live help

Right just a quick question about this. Been planning on getting this for a bit but I've constantly been putting off, since I'm not sure of the mechanics behind setting xbox live up.

I've plugged my Ethernet Cable that i got with my 360, from my Xbox 360 to my Modem (Motorola ST5100), I run the tests and everything, but the IP Address always fails.

I'm running on a Blueyonder 4mb internet connection, just wondering if anyone can help me out? I've tried a couple of things from the support on xbox.com, next step would be to ring up my ISP, but figured I'd try here first


One last thing also, if i was to buy a router, to make it possible to use the Internet from my PC and Xbox at the same time, which type would i need? And could anyone recommend me a decent one for a reasonable price? :] Ta

First simple question, did you reset your modem (plug it out for about half a minute) after you've inserted the ethernet cable in the X-box?
