When they bear no relevance and don't exist, I don't see the point. Sure, remember them and keep them noted in history but it's time to move on really. Good idea for a site.

Hey I'm all for moving onwards...bring on the Euro , decimal system, converting to Km from Miles etc...

But I dont agree with replacing the old 7 wonders with a whole lot of new ones.

Especialy when most of them are not particularly wonderous...Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower, The Kremlin, Aachen Cathedral....yes they are fairly impressive.

I would rather add things to the 7 wonders....not replace them. Its a foolsih idea!

I'd think that the whole idea behind a world wonder is that it's well...wonderous heh. I don't find a large statue of some french lady very wonderous, nor a large iron spike. Cool engineering sure...but a wonder?

Isn't there already a 7 modern wonders of the world? Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, etc? The ones you listed are the 7 ancient wonders.
