"Because of this I have decided to offer seven free days to all of the beta testers. If you decide to continue your adventures in WAR, and we certainly hope you do, you will be credited on your account from the 18th of September and will be able to take part in the adventure without any regret."

The details are unclear though.

Does that mean all OB accounts will be valid for seven days from the 18th, regardless of whether you buy the box or not?

If you register your key to gain access during the headstart, will you still receive the seven days?

I think the 7 free days apply when you register you retail key. I.e. instead of getting a free month, you get 37 free days if you were in the OB.

I approve of this. I hope it does affect pre-ordered accounts.

Nice gesture (i do think we deserved it after this last week though), so lets hope headstart goes with few problems and i think we can all start with a clean slate with GOA.I'm sure there will be a few problems when head start begins but i cant imagine itll be anywhere near as bad as last sunday, see you all in game .:drink:

It is a very nice gesture from GOA, and I'm pleasantly surprised by it.
It shows they acknowledge the mess they made at the OB launch and that they take that responsiblilty serious.

I'd still say however, that we're not fully there yet. A higher degree of communication would still be preferable. Fast and accurate updates on downtimes and ETA for those is still something where I feel GOA lacks. When you go past an ETA you update with a new ETA and so on.
Furthermore - a lot of this will still hang on how Head Start x2 and actual launch is handled. I do feel they open up for Head Start keys too late for my liking (aka too close to launch) - but I do recognize that they've not been able to keep the timetable they had previously due to the OB mess.

So it is really a good step in the right direction from GOA this, and now they should just follow with communication and service level and show that they do take it seriously by providing the same service as we could get by going "over the pond".

It does refer to accounts so.... if you register your pre-order on the same account as you did the openbeta....

You should be all ok!

PS: Can anyone answer me this, the headstart, is it tomorrow for all pre-orders or just CE and regular pre-orders on monday?

CE is tomorrow, SE preorders is Monday.

Not massively enthused - i think it's a step in the right direction but falls short.

That said, i still feel anally raped at having bought CE tbh. A whole 6-7 waking hours of gameplay tomorrow before i have to head to bed for work, so that both US and EU servers go live simultaneously...Equal my arse!

Any takers on bets for problems on the day that mean CE headstart dissapears entirely?

Oh and DOOOOOM.

Well I'm glad you said it. Here, have a hug :fluffle:

I'm very happy with the seven days compensation, it's more than we deserve to be honest. And in terms of DOOOOOOM!, I'll see how things pan out tomorrow. I'll register my headstart key before I go to bed (hopefully!) and if I can do that, I can have a good nights sleep!

Nice Gesture

Much appreciated.

I for one will give GOA the benefit of the doubt for now, seasoned with the same generally cynical attitude that I have towards most games companies.:)
