Well after watching the MM and NP movie's and noticed that how Elfsbane and Drood both had there setup similar (as in quickbar and textboxs etc) i thought i would try somthing like it, and it is much more effective (or i am sure it will be when i get used to it :D ) I just found out that you could change the ingame resolution  and was wondering how everybody had there in game setting's?

Currently i am use the 10xx X xxx Resolution, and totally changed my keyboard so i move around with W, A, S and D (this helps me reach the number keys easier) i used to use the arrows to move. I am not sure if i like the way the keyboard is setup at the moment because after a year and a half of playing it'll take a while to get used to. E is target closest enemy, R is last attacker and Q is combat mode. So really i have most of the keys i need reachable by one hand and can keep the other on the mouse. Whereas before i would often have to use 2 hands on the keyboard and not use the mouse when in combat :(

resolution is currently at 1280x1024, I believe.

Is there anyway to change the size of the writing when it is in 10xx x xxx mode? I like the way it is, but the writting is a tad smaller than i would prefer.

In my opinion, it is better to use E,S,D,F for moving around rather than W,A,S,D.

If you use ESDF you will have more buttons to toy with because you got some available on your left side as well as your right.

I've used RDFG ever since I started playing FPS games :)

Plenty of keys available to your pinky.

I agree totally, that's what I have been doing since I started FPShooters as well (a loooong, long time ago  )... much more keys to use with your left hand...

News post on the main site:

Transparent interface

Since the launch of Shrouded Isles, it is possible to use three different kinds of interface. One of them, the transparent one, may cause some problems of names display in the bag pack (mainly words cut in two). Looking forward to a Mythic fix, we however propose you a temporary fix to correct this problem :

Be careful, use this fix only if you feel experienced enough to do so !

step one : open the following file with a Text editor like notepad : \data\uifontt.dat

the last entry : [font12] type=bitmap file=fonts/9font.bmp colors=11

change it to : [font12] type=bitmap file=fonts/arial10_mind.bmp colors=11

step two :

It is almost working, but the patcher replaces the uifontt.dat when you connect to the server. Now we have to fool the server for it not to replace the new unifont.dat.

2 solutions :

1. create a copy of arial10_mind.bmp

2. create a backup of 9font.bmp

3. rename the copy of arial10_mind.bmp to 9font.bmp. - if you encounter problems, just rename the backup again.

lefthanded, so using
HJKU for movement,
L for combat,
B for nearest,
N for latest attacker,
M for mouselook
G for pick up
F for nearest item
Y for use (will change to /stick when i can be bothered to relearn layout after all this time)
I for inventory (will be /face)
T for torch
V for Autorun
Space for jump
+ various less used functions on other keys.

As someohe said, using DFGR (or HJKU for lefties) is an improvement. 2 reasons: More keys available, and the little indicator on the F and J keys, for less finger-fumbles :)

that fix dont work .... well it does but u have to redo it everytime u start daoc .. ;) theres a download avilable that fully fixes it.

I only logged in once to test it worked, yes the patcher overwrites it but you can just copy the file back in or be a lazy git and use a batch file :p and /wave hi chodax. I'm not playing though just posting :)

My keyboard set up is gimped :)

Might be why I die so much :)

Screen size : 1280*1024 I think

Movement: is the arrowkeys and z x for straffing. I also use my 5th mouse key (right side of mouse) to switch to mouselook and uses Right mouse key to more forward.
And of cause Num lock for autorun, its nice when you have mouselook on since you can navigate around fast and easy.

A is attack
S is Sit/Stand
R is Reply
F7 closest friendly
F8 closest enemy
F9 closest loot (g to get it)

About as gimped as teh board can be :)
