Had our first war tonite vs COI was a GG btw. but omg the Bw servers game us all pings around 180 and up whats up with this and will this keep on?????

ok, it seems that some router was down, but...

I also see a post by Jesta and I quote:

Our clanserver had a very nice ping compared to the BWTFCL servers... so why did we have to play an entire game with a 200-400 ping while we could have had a much more enjoyable game on our clanserver ? Besides that we pay enough money a month for our server, so it kinda suck's big donkey balls that we can't use it for the league organised by the company that is providing the servers ? We took an 18 player server cause it was allowed to be used for BWTFCL and now they change this all of a sudden...

And please make sure that referees are aware of the possibility to use a clanserver when the connection is fux0red like it was yesterday.

I mean.. comon.. we're playing to have fun right... ?

ps this is no flame, just some remarks where you can maybe improve things a little :)

It seems a few of the servers this week have been shite, My clans game included :( 1st map was fine 2nd we all had 80+ choke.
You are quite right in saying that you can use a barryserver if the league ones are crap on the day.
But, it is the referees decision whether this can happen.
The easiest thing to do like you say is use a spot of common sense, i.e pause server, listen to complaints and take due action.
If the referee didn't do this for some reason, then i can only apologise.
I shall make all refs aware ( again ) of this situation.

Had our 2 war today and must say server/ping havent improvede a bit it was unplayable and we had to end war:( so dunno whats gonna happende but this aint good and it aint the routing from rest of EU to bw cause we had some uk member pinging bad allso!

Ive just come from reffing this match for CI. - SEG

The server was fine untill the match started. It seems any use of grens, rockets etc lagged the server. The server to be fair to players is pretty unplayable. The average ping during prematch was about 50 on CI. then it shot up to 100 - 200.

One of SEG actually spent alot of the time playing on 800+

It looks to be a BW 7a server issue only from what ive witnessed.

Isnt there anything we can do to resolve this issue before teams leave the league for this one problem?

The servers are unplayable so far.
FI98 have had 2 matches, against IST and then MDB, fi98 being a german clan, the other 2 from uk. All 3 teams should have had team pings of well below 100 usually.

1st week match, the teams had 200, sometimes 300 team pings and it was totally unplayable but we trudged on anyway. Players lagged past sgs etc.
2nd week match, 200+ team pings, a little better than the last match but still ridiculous, nobody could conc and some of the def spent 50% of the match not able to move.

Just to let you guys know...

Ive spoken to natrat about the lag issues during game play. He said that the problem is known about and that they will be replacing the server as its getting a tad slow. Hence this is the reason why connecting to the server and sitting in prematch shows no lag issues, but during the match where nades, rockets etc are going off we know that the latency jumps from 70 upto 200.

Theres no talk of when this replacement is happening but natrat said that this is something they have been looking at.

Given the last few posts, what's the situation for this weeks matches. If the server is unplayable and neither clan has a BWTFCL server, what then ?

I know that we aren't allowed to use our jolt one and am not trying to bring that into the discussion at all.

Are ref's able to make a call to postpone ? And if it's an issue that may take a month to fix (from some of the replies to the posts about clan's leaving) isn't that just going to mean that the "overspill" week si going to get VERY full.

FYI, our 2 US members have been unable to play in BWTFCL matches this season or last (pinging 1000+) and our European members ping 150+ higher on BW league servers than they do on other match servers.

As far as I know you can postpone matches to a later date, but both teams must agree.

As for the servers, I dont know about playing on different servers. Ive always been told that all matches must be played on BWTFCL ones. I think that Clan BarryServers should be allowed as long as they run the BWTFCL config.

Barrysworld clan server's are allowed .

1. All games are to be played on BarrysWorld servers.
The ips and ports of BWTFCL servers can be found on our Servers page along with the server configuration - all servers are passworded 'bwtfcl' and refs/admins have rcon.

Hmm just had a talk with LordDw he said 2 days ago they where on server 7a and pings where fine until 5-10 min into war it goes beserk and all pings around 200. IF ci are gonna play on that server rest of wars (as we do on schedule) we aint gonna play unless server problem is gonna be fixede cause neither we or others should play with that ping unless you got a bad conn that is:)

Barrysworld are aware of the problem and over the following month I'm told will be working to resolve it .

Imo the bad ping and packet loss are only present when server's are at peak use when all are occupied so if games were staggered or BW clan server's used it should lower the load on the bwtfcl ones and hopefully keep ping's low and packet loss free .

4fought have taken measures to avoid this problem in future following sundays mess and I'm sure bwtfcl will do anything possible over the following month to avoid overloading the servers to .

We had the EXACT same problem last week, however this was routing to Jolt servers. I am in Ireland and was being routed over the exact same loopback router on the Cable and Wireless network over the US and back to Jolt.
Our ISP had no knowledge of the problem and on contacting Cable & Wireless they told me they did not peer directly with Nildram so we were tossed over to the USA and back to Nildram.
To date I have no clue how it was resolved, but it resolved itself after 2 days. Note however that using a different ISP did not route us over to the USA hmm.....

After playing CJK last night on BW server, it was appalling, (gg though CJK :) ) abissmal lag in 1st map and not much better in 2nd map.

We are an Icelandic clan and our Icers have to route to USA to get to BW but not Jolt, something to do with BW being too small an ISP or someat to peer directly with the LINX :E

This has left us pondering our position in BWTFCL and our continuation in the league, unless we can use our Clan server for matches which is as it happens a Jolt then we may have to leave the league. Bah you might say, but play on a BW server atm is impossible, no fun, droppages, lag, etc...and with a number of our players not being able to play it leaves us kinda tight most times, esp when ref wouldnt allow one of our members play 'cause he wasnt reg'd :E but has been a member for quite a while. Some leniancy must be shown as we had to bring on our only available player who had been having problems with NTL the previous night. Perhaps the ref should have sorted it out afterward taking evidence from UKTFCL details and clan website details, as with 2mins of prematch remaining, we were not impressed. (YeP I know this is our problem, but mistakes happen, and leniancy should be made)

We are currently deciding wether to continue on or not which is a shame as we had a tough time trying to convince you guys to let us in. Our leaders are Icers and can't play :E kinda defeats the fun and purpose of a clan.

A few things mate...
1) this is BW tfc league, JOLT cannot be used , but BW clan servers can.
2) I fully understand and appreciate your dilema, and I've been informed by BW that this issue will be resolved within 2-3 weeks.

I hope you guys can sit it out till things are resolved.

If need be, and you are experiencing severe server conditions, as has been seen over the past 2 weels or so, then I shall try to move it to a clan Barryserver ( which seem to be 100% better then the league servers )

But to do this I need you to see me in irc where we can sort it.

Don't really wanna leave myself as its an excellent league with excellent clans :) ..didn't mean to sound like a 'i hate bwtfcl person' soz if i did :p.

May well take u up on the clan server thing for the next 2 matches if we are ok to stay in though :) .. be able to hh then :p

Seriously though I've never had any significant problems with oceanfree since moving to isdn.

nah mog subscription eircom are best of the lot :p cheaper too esp when you are paying 500+ for 2month phone bills :E
