Hello all, after i went on this server which had sum kind of modification so that u culd say votemap and a menu would come up. Sumthing like that, it was a Jolt server "Battlelan". After i went on it, ALL and i mean ALL my binds were deleted, if i went into controls there was nothing there. Im scared to go on that server again, its done it about 3 times to me and i think it was after i went on that server. I didnt do nething like accidentally delete config.cfg or reinstall CS or nething, it just happened wen i either logged onto Battlelan or after i disconnected and tried neother server, like i sed im too scared to go back on it and find out wat did it, heh. Im a bit worried people may thing im sum cheater as it culd be sum anti cheat mechanism or sumthing :S. Thanx very much if u can shed sum light on this! Ty

The Server probably had AdminMOD Installed.

Hmm, it shouldnt delete your Config, it could be the Admins playing a "Prank" on you, if you dont want any modifications done to your config, set it as READ-ONLY.

If i where you, i wouldnt use that Server again, "theres plenty more fish in the Sea"

Hmm, those bastards. Can they do that? Just delete my config file? My mouse still worked but all the stuff that was in "controls" was all gone, i could move my mouse tho. Can they mess around with my CS directory? Hmm very annoying this.

I think the command was removed from Admin-mod, but Clan-mod, which is very similar, still has the unbindall command in it.

Just don't play there again, they obviously aren't mature enough to admin a server if they do that to you.

reset your configuration and copy the config.cfg to dogdough.cfg

Anyone resets your controls, go to the console and type :

exec dogdough.cfg

Settings are back

how is it possible for a server to make modifications to a file on your machine? Thats a pretty big security hole if you ask me.

It's not as big a hole as you think. Halflife can modify your config.cfg file, which means any bonds or alias' you set up in console are saved when you quit. Clanmod and Adminmod allow the admin to execute commands on the clients e.g. name changes, team changes, drop weapons, or unbindall. If your config is read-only, this won't be saved.

Hey guys thanx alot, im certainly never going to those servers agn. i will also make a copy of my config file and name it dogdough so as a back up i can execute that. But i notice in my config file unbindall is at the top, but its also on the top of another config file on a computer which has never connected to an online server, i use it only for lan play. thanx guys
