Server admins do your job!!!!

I am sick and tired of idiots ruining a game by tking.
Where are the server admins? How do we get in touch with them?
IRC? some people dont know how to use it (me).

Im sorry to say that another one of your servers is now empty because of your support (lack of).

The guy was on there for an hour and now he has got away with it, i doubt they server admin will even look at the log.

There is a banning protocol in place, i.e by name, ip and cd key.

So start using the f***ing thing!!!!

I hope the admins dont get paid for what they do, because every time this has happend not one has been seen!!!

Im sorry Barrys world sux! And now 20 other people agree!

Get it sorted barrys world and pronto!!!

perhaps you should learn to use irc dude. it's not hard. if you are intelligent enough to play a game online you should be able to manage irc no?

A) Admins are 'summoned' from IRC - learn to use it, or shaddap. It's irc.barrysworld.com and the channel is #bwadmins

B) Try posting this in the support forum, or the related game forum (was it CS? Try the CS forum - might make more sense retard)

The thing is is that some people come on asking for an admin on a weekend or even 2-3 in the morning (yes most admins do have social lives). They then get abusive when an admin isn't there to help them.

Admins are not paid, they give up their time for it. If there isn't an admin it's tuff luck. If you were paying to use Barrysworlds servers then I would understand why you are upset. But you don't pay, the admins don't get paid, so quit whining and if you can't get an admin, join another server.

Yes i used to be an admin but i don't realy play games anymore, Real life grasped me by the scruff of the neck.

The solution is to use IRC. As Perp stated, the channel is #bwadmins. If you need an IRC client, go here. If you don't know how to use IRC, go here(Not now though, because it appears to be down). If you've started up your IRC client, and don't know what to do, type the following:
/connect irc.barrysworld.com
[wait till a second]
/join #bwadmins

And voila, a room full of admins!

I think all the CS admins have been struck down or plague or some other form of disease, as there seems to be a distinct lack of them.

Im a hlccl hldm admin.Most admins Ive encountered in games do so on a voluntary basis i.e. give up their time to help admin games for no reward.
To get me or another hlccl admin you can normally just go into #hlccl and ask for one or post on the hlccl forums.
or by icq.
But most ppl are around in irc.To take full advantage of the admins im afraid youre going to have to learn to use it.

interesting because they are going to test the software needed for p2p. So whats going to happen to the volunteer admins? when p2p comes.

They'll still be there when P2P comes, so long as they are P2P members themselves I presume.

It's not like P2P would give the admins a salary is it. :p

The game in question was RTCW, i dont think that there are as many RTCw servers as CS servers. So it should in theory be possible to police them.

The least an admin can do is pop in every few hours for a few mins to see whats up.

One possiblity for people to get in touch with the admins is to have a irc link on the support page, just click the link and if u have mirc installed you are there.

My clan has such a link to its channel on its home page, because they do realise that not every one knows how to use irc correctly in the inital stages.

Its just so bloody annoying that you have a fantastic game with 20 other people, and then some knob fucks it up for an hour.

Oh and if using irc is a sign of intellegence to some of you, then i really think you need to get out more.

1) I think you'll find there IS an irc link on the page.

2) If you click on "Chat/IRC" on the portal page (can't miss it) you'll find a shiny link to this which I think you will find may help you out. And confirms that Barrysworld ARE fulfiling the server admin obligations as best they can with volunteers.

I'm not sure when the "irc://" support was added into mIRC, may only have been version 6 and direct link to the admins channel using this method wouldn't go amis as there currently isn't a link of this sort.

Despite the one point though, Creamy appears to have been lazy about the services. Seeing there are links to "how to use mIRC" from the Admins page too.

At least they can restrain their moans to the relevant forum, and make it clear in their posts what game it is they're whinging about, otherwise you're no better than those people you so easily denigrate.

Its not that easy. TBH why do that when you rely on most gamers to report it. I know you dont use IRC but these days gaming and IRC is what its about. If you dont do IRC but do do gaming then you are only 50% there to the online gaming community.
