B: Surely a spectator mode on the new CS patch (i may be wrong but i heard there was one) with a op down view will m8 cheating so easy (get 2 PCs next to eac other 1 in specator mode and know where bad guys are). PS: I may be wrong. Heard it from a dodgy souce

Once when me and Erebus were on a server there was a bunch of players who kept knowing where people were. Erebus noticed they all had the same IP, basically they were in the same room and once one of them died they told the others where the other players were.

Okay thats fair the 3 simply substitues a e, my question though ollytity, where the fuck did the extra a come from?

When u hostage jump and get to the top of the map, u can walk around on some levels (best done on italy) and get to places u really should not be able to, looks from other players views as if u are "flying"

I have wondered this myself, especially for caln games. My only thought would be if the spectator mode was delayed by one round so it was not live?

I beleive mapswimming is getting onto bits of the map that you shouldfnt be able to e.g. the roof on de_nuke

you could easily get two computers side by side and connect to the game server as a spectator.

League games dont allow spectators in anyway, and if there isn't an option to delay it then leagues dont have to use it.

I believe the HLTV thingy is delayed by something like 30 seconds or so... maybe more, I may be talking crap... :sleeping:

Think there is a couple of options here :

1. Disable chase cam as Embattle says.

2. Use the fade to black option when you are dead.

They are both server settings. Fade to black sets your screen to black when you die so you cant see squat.

Err Laz? The point is not what u can see when u are dead.

The point is that HLTV will allow anyone to spectate a game, presumably live, so u could just hook up a second pc to watch the game u are involved in.

SO it would not matter if fade to black or forcecahsecam were on, u would be using hltv to see an overhead of the map and know where every single player was.

There will be a delay on the new spectator mode (which will be set by admin - though there will be a minimum delay of 8 secs) to prevent scandoulous behaviour by certain parts of the CS community. More interesting is the voice cast technology! There has always been the problem with Roger Wilco et al when forcecam is off, so expect to see it permanently turned off.

You going to see a lot of "Ok m8 just inch up to the corner and I'll look round the corner for you" happening, so I imagine all us dead players will be left with stuck with the fixed back end view of our team mates. And with no custom models that's going to be pretty bland....

My one major worry was the speed of creation of a cheat at the introduction of Spectator mode last release. Will this open the floodgates even further????

Valve have not revealed too much about the voice tech, but could they not simply introduce a new server variable that enabled/disabled dead people talking to live people?

Though it pains me to say it...

... you could be right Ch3tan. Ive just read that Valve intend to switch off the dead people talking to the living, and also allow players to switch off or disable those they don't think are adding anything...

...so don't expect the Voice tech to add much to your game!
