Sega giving up on the xbox!

Hello,

Allow me to introduce myself, I am an Industry Insider, I can't reveal to you my identity nor my place of work because I am under an NDA(Non-disclosure agreement)

I have posted on these forums multiple times before, and as you may remember I was here a couple of weeks ago when I revealed to you the announcements that are to take place at this years E3.

Today I can officialy reveal to you another announcement that is to take place at this years E3

This is as follows:-

SEGA is to officialy announce that they are longer going to develope for the Xbox, games in production are going continue and be released, following their release no more games will be scheduled for the machine.

SEGA will then continue to allocate 60% of it's development resources for the PS2 and the remaining %40 for the Gamecube.

The software which is already available on Microsoft's machine will be ported over to either of the two systems.

Exactly which one will get which software is information which is not available at this moment in time but will be announced with the rest of the announcement at this upcoming E3.

We will be printing this in our next paper.

Big shame, but expected to be honest.

Sega are likely to concentrate on Cube releases from their Triforce joint venture with Nintendo and Namco.

X-Box has been cracked anyway, has a great futre in the short term atleast.

yeah gota luve those russians who orignaly did it, and just like the messiah chip on ps2 , the chip is being made here in the uk.

and word also hass it on panasonic GC being abel to play games from any region now to learn some japanese....

So Crazy Taxi, JSR, PSO, Skies of arcadia, Tennis2k3, NBA2k3, and NHL2k3 and counless other sega titles were all not welcome on the Exbox?

Actually out of all the games out for the exbox the only one I wanted to play was JSR

crazy taxi - would probably only last 10 mins like the last one they made

JSR - good game

PSO + Skies - boring

Tennis 2k3 -yeah good

but nba and nhl would just be boring as well

but going back on what i said. i did read in x-box magazine that sega were makig plans to bring back some megadrive , saturn and dreamcast titles to the x-box.

so that could mean such stuff as daytona, sega rally etc..

And yes there are plans to remake some sega calssics such as panzer dragoon But I dont think the exbox will see any off them

Panzer dragoon is going to the xbox though.

I don't think i few kids calling it the Ex box will stop the mighty microsoft from pushing there project the way they want to take it.


Tbh i couldn't realy care about the kiddie console wars you people have aslong as my Pc doesn't disapear


NHL 2002 on my pc totally blows away my Ps2 version.

Iv'e put my face on my custom player, and iv'e all my fav tunes in the intermissions

My Ps2 version can't do that, plus the gfx look crappy in comparsion to my pc version, that along with the chugging frame rate on the ps2
