Well I have a copy due to PC World selling it 2 days early, and its ok. Reminds me a lot of desert combat maybe its due to the V2's(aka cruise missiles), maybe due to the silly planes that are serious overkill, but it doesn't have the same feel as BF1942 original or Road to Rome do.

The maps are good though but they are often really small, and the new mobile AA cannon is damn deadly against soft targets on the ground.

Just a pity there are not many UK based servers for it yet...

I'll still get it, I'm a sucker for expansion packs...although I seem to be playing the original a lot atm.

Haven't changed my mind I'm still not gonna get it. Considering how much I play road to rome now it just isn't worth the cash.

altho i bought rtr and have only played it online once or twice....

Fast moving with powerful ground attack weapons....rockets and Bombs, although Flakpanzer turns it in to chipboard material.

Very powerful main gun, although the Tank is very slow.

Instead of top mounted Machine Gun you get a missile rack with 30 missiles, does overheat so you can only fire a limited amount in one go.

i took some screen shots of telemark(first 2) and Eaglesnest(lastone)
i would have taken more but the ea server arsed up...

telemark is a very atmospehric map and it is nice when you see lots of people parachuting, i had a well good screen to take but i missed the prince screen button and i spawned!!! argh. it hads lots of people 'chuting.

I bought it this morning on the way to work, I had some game vouchers so it only cost me £7.50 in the end, which seems reasonable

The demo keeps gicing me "Warning! Connection problem" messages every 2 seconds, other than it being unplayable due to these messages it seems a good game.

But that's Eagles Nest with the Merrycans. Hmmm maybe he was on secondment to the yanks, because they needed some traditional one handed British soldiering to help them along.

I do reckon there will be another patch soon as SW seems unstable server end.

Just played Demo still undecided wether to get it yet.

If the demo has Eagles Nest, then I'd say don't bother if you're not really interested, it's the best map in the game and some of the new stuff isn't up to much anyway imo.
But that's just me, get some more opinions too before you decide whether to or not

I think its OK.

If only for a distraction until any leagues start.

The new weapons are better then RtR ones, the maps are big (well the ones i can think are), thank god for motorcycles.

The only trouble i seem to have is I cant find a decent server. They all seem laggy as hell when compared to vanilla servers. Did they make it a more system demanding mod?

Yup, it has motorbikes and sidecars in, so you can recreate Indiana Jones style chases.

Wont be long till someone uses the code and inserts a proper bike into it - I'd do it, except I dont have secret weapons

Anyway, 2-strokes are for mincers as it is. They never had any good bikes back then.
