The motorbike sidecars are hilarious. If you press left mouse button the horn beeps! There are only two jet packs on the level so I haven't been quick enough to use one yet but it looks cool when you see someone land on a roof.

** IMPORTANT INFO INVOLVING AIR CONTROLS IN PATCH 1.45 **

Patch 1.45 has introduced 3 new AIR controls, located under CONTROLS in
the OPTIONS menu, on the 2nd page of the AIR tab. If you have applied
the 1.45 patch to an existing, previously played install of
Battlefield 1942, you will need to define keys for these controls
in order for them to work while playing.

For reference, if you apply the 1.45 patch to an installation of
Battlefield 1942 that has not been previously played, the keys are
setup by default as follows :

AIR Control Default Key
----------- -----------
GO TO POSITION 4 Key 4
GO TO POSITION 5 Key 5
GO TO POSITION 6 Key 6


NETWORK/SERVER FIXES

-game.listPlayers will now display client IP addresses when run from
the server console

CLIENT FIXES

-Support for Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of WWII expansion pack
-Land vehicles will not respawn if player is too close to spawnpoint.
-Def Gun now has shell icon instead of rocket.
-Fixed issue with using the mouse wheel as a control.
-AI skill no longer resets to EASY when browsing menus.
-Dropped kits stay on static objects such as bridges, houses, etc.
-Fixed issue with disappearing buttons after activating a custom game.
-Tooltips added for Def Gun, stationary MG42 and stationary Browning.
-Kits can no longer be picked up from a distance.
-Fixed force from explosions on vehicles which were sometimes wrong,
and caused vehicles to roll over.
-AI players don't count when voting in COOP.
-Possible to select position 4, 5 and 6 in aircrafts.
-Console background does not disappear after switching to main
menu.
-Changing camera view while shooting or leaving water works.
-CO-OP briefing text now displays the specific conquest type for each
map (Assault, Head-On or Hybrid)
-Names with line-feeds are now valid.
-Fixed floating exploit.
-Fixed first person animations, which sometimes stopped prematurely.
-Fixed crash when changing camera view under certain conditions.

they should include air vehicles as well so there is no more plane camping.

How does the patch being included in the demo effect other games, like standard BF or RtR, if at all ?

Don't think so, it must of installed it at same time.

Thought it installed to a seperate directory, if it does then it shouldnt affect your normal battlefield.

Yeah the SW demo and your existing BF1942 are completley separate installs.

The demo will be using BF version 1.45 as its backbone, and I assume in the dirctory there's a readme file for it.

The patch was meant to be out on friday....

Played around with the singleplayer last night, same old sh*t really, but that's okay as I'm a dedicated fan :)

The Schwimmwagens are cool, and they have an MG like the bikes, I can see them being very good tactics, beats me why anyone would want to walk now !

That rocket plane is way too fast, you can't keep it on the map, and a Sherman tank just looks at it and it explodes. The missiles it has are a bit lethal, like the game really needs it as planes are so underpowered :rolleyes:

Think its a definite improvement tbh. They've obviously learned some lessons from DC ;) . The planes are quite good because although the rocket plane is overgunned (and devastating if you know how to use it) you can't fly it for long before it runs out of juice, whereas you can fly all day in the allied plane but its only armed with a popgun. Overpowered planes are the worst thing about RTR. The schwimmwagens are great, as is the allied DUKW thing and the tanks feel nicer too. Rocket pack is a gimmick though, which is also good from a balance perspective (although the constant pleas of 'where can I find the rocket pack' got a bit wearing over the weekend). My only problem is that the sound is screwed up and all the voice messages sound like pinky & perky.

Na that was a secret weapon aswell. The Allies did the old hellium balloon trick to fool the Germans into thinking there's no-one hiding in this 'ere school apart from us children. Then they'd jump out on them when they weren't looking.

The Natter is very powerful when used correctly but its a combination of fuel and ammo that means it has limited use, the fuel normally runs out but you can use it like a glider.

Schwimmwagen adds another dimension by allowing people to get to another flag without encountering tanks etc on the road.

The Goblin really suffers from being able to do little else that shoot down the Natter or crash into tanks since its bullets seem very weak.

The Flakpanzer is one of the really powerful weapons, even able to destroy tanks without much effort, perhaps a little too powerful.

The guns are good but nothing over special compared to previous guns.

I look forward to the expansion when it arrives and I'll most probably add it to my collection since some of the weapons not yet seen look great.

I guess the real damning problem with this addon and previous ones, and current games, is the morons that seem to get attracted to it, much like flys to those blue light zappers. Below you can see that about half of the Axis swapped sides towards the end, including the HART clan which was totally shit and just followed on from people's complete spastic nature of not helping when help is requested.
