Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Comunications, but i HATE the electronic aspect. Im gunna try and change to mechanical or civil engineering.

Well at my uni (Aberdeen) its quite shite, you do a general degree for the 1st 2st year then you specialize

1st Year - Maths, Materials and Structures
term 2 - Electronics, Thermodynamics

2nd Year - Maths, Materials and Structures, Electronics
term 2 - Maths, Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics, Electronics

3rd and 4th You specialize

I would seriously advise you check the uni out before you go visit it, like see the lectureres and all the labs and lecture theaters. Just start chatting to the students also, coz they have been there for a while and they know what its like.

If someone asks me what i think i would advise them against coming to aberdeen.

seriously tho i would get a placement year if i was doing an MEng - but im too thick to manage that so im just settling for a BEng.

Im sure ill manage on my final project...after all i do already work closely to the field of study and i do enjoy use of contacts

Speaking of which... Dont suppose you know what Heriot-Watt is like? They accepted me, said I could skip the first year and they'd give me a pretty nice scholarship. Im just wondering if its worth it?

Or should I just go to loughborough and be poor like everyone else, but come out with a bette degree?

only thing i know about loughborough is it used to get the piss taken out in PC GAMER

heriot-watt is quite a decent uni tbh, i know a few people who went there and did computing and also history and both got good degrees and are quite clued up with all their shit

plus man if theyre lettin ya skip year its all good

remember its not so much what uni you went to its more what u can achieve on your own steam

day by day when i was involved in redcruitment for programmers here we were knocking back peeps from glasgow uni because althought the uni is one of the best in scotland the peeps who went to it were feckin clueless

Twog - my GF is at edinburgh uni doing Vet. Medicine. I stay in the pollock halls when i go down to visit her. Ee's very nice. But i dont think you would be at halls would you


But blith - Edinburgh does seem a really nice uni.
I would suggest aberdeen if you want to meet a variety of different races (thats just the lecturers) im not being racist honestly, but i would love for a lecturer you dont have to spend all your concentration trying to hear what they are saying as opposed to listening to what they are saying.

They probably really know their stuff but their accent is so confusing its difficult to listen to them, the other day one of my lecturers was speaking about the circumference of a pipe and she didn't know what the word was she was just saying "this bit of the pipe" and expected us to fill in the blanks.
