Screen freezes

Firstly I'm not mega-techy, so forgive me if I give the wrong information.

I'm currently experiencing a lot of screen freezes which occur for about 3-4 seconds at a time, more or less every 3-4 minutes. Basically the game seems to lock up for no reason. I've tried lowering the graphics settings to minimum and turning effects off (specular lighting, reflections, shadows etc) but to no avail.

I've managed to run Age of Conan on maximum settings with no problems as well as a few very graphics intensive games.

PC specs. Err, I'm running Microsoft Vista, an Intel Quad core, (I think) 4gb RAM, NVidia 8800GT with DirectX10. I've updated the driver recently.

On an unrelated note, has anyone seen the immense amount of CPU usage that WAR uses? I'm seeing an allocation of 1.4gb of memory, is this usual?

Hey selenia!
:)

There seems to be many memory leaks in the game that should not be there at all, and we can only wait for Mythic to fix those.

I suggest trying to force your Graphics card settings such as AA and AF, putting them up to the max they can go. This hopefully will force more load onto your GPU. WAR is using way too much Memory, and I've heard people having problems with just the lighting effects in game.
Try turning everything down to minimum in game, but then switch on everything APART from the lighting effects.
There has also been talk of the combat log causing stuttering, so you could also try turning that off.

I'm not mega techy either, these are all thing's I've heard from the Warhammer Alliance user to user board.

Hope you find a solution, You shouldn't experience any lag with that rig, but it seems WAR is hardly optimized for many systems yet.
