As some of you probably know, (as I've been moaning a lot about it), I'm having servere problems with screaming.net when trying to access barrysworld, wireplay, and ,well all servers except that grailhall one and the clan private servers. I just want to know how many other screaming.net users are having the same difficulties before I go and shove their 600 ping up their "^$"!.

I can play QW no probs on Screaming.net. I think it's a brilliant service for the price i.e. £0.00

I can get a ping of around 140 outside peak times.

I would instead prefer to kiss the hand of the provider of this service, as he's saved me hundreds of pounds to date.

To expect a service like this to be optimised for online gaming is a bit much.

Well thanks for the url

but it is a MAJOR problem as half of my Tribes clan use this isp and all have the same problem.
If there isn't a problem with other games then why does this occur with tribes players??
Correct I cannot expect a service like this to be optomised, but surely I can expect it to produce a reasonable rate of ping. ie. lower than 500!!! Something that screaming.net fails to manage entirely.
Additionally, not everyone has the funding to play games outside "peak times" by which I am assuming that you mean the peak time is the peak demand time ie. after 6pm and not the peak charge phone call time.

Hiya,

I've had a ping of 450-600 on all the servers except Grailhall for about the last 10 days, pain!

Screaming really needs to get it's act together, long pauses and dropped connections are bad enough.

By peak times I meant when everyone is downloading P0rn an' that, e.g. Sunday evenings.

Outside these times it goes from 140-250-400
if it's really bad. I wouldn't use it for competitive gameplay AT ALL, mind. I'd just use it for practice or FFA, and some other fast ISP for matches.

its not just that screaming.net is slow, its something to do with barrysworld and wireplay servers and their net connection, because ukonline and grailhail servers are fine at all times, and its not just tribes, UT suffers from the same problem, bw and wp servers = high ping, but the others (i can't remember the names) are fine, a bit slower, but otherwise OK (not over 300) I used to get a 150 ping on BW UT servers a month ago, ahh the good old days
