They do sell 2nd hand stuff, but it's usually sold in the pre-owned section of the shop with orange stickers on it, with all prices ending in £xx.97.

If it's new, take it back and they'll normally exchange it with no problem and send your copy back to the warehouse.

This still applies even if it is a pre-owned game btw.

Thats one of the problem with GAME when u take games in or even buy second-hand games they never ask to see the condition of the disk or even show the disc b4 u buy it. Thats why I don't buy second-hand games from GAME usually get them from Gamestation as they show u the condition of the disc and ask if I still want the game, I believe GAME should start a policy like this to stop people taking second-hand games home and finding out a certain lvl won't work cause the disc is damaged their.

Take it back, most probably just a bit of bad treatment by GAME staff tbh.

Tosh.

I used to work in a Game store, and we always checked the condition of stuff we got in from ppl, and when selling any pre-owned, we showed them the disc if they had any concerns about its condition when selling it on. They could refuse to take it if they didn't like the look of it.

Plus, any disc with any scrapes on it were not accepted as a trade in. We simply told the customer that we couldn't accept it, because we basically couldn't sell it again.

About 3 games I've purchased from my local game have been obviously preowned and sold on at the price of a brand new copy. They refund you once you tell them though.

It must be my local stores then in Bristol I've never bought anything from GAME shops from other parts of the country.

The disk had marks on it, the manual looked a bit tattered.

They dont pass off old as new

I work for game and common policy is that old games are sold as pre-owned.
You may be aware of the 10 return policy which states that if u dont like the game u can return it within 10 days. Well due to this, sometimes damaged discs are returned and some stupid staff dont check them before they are sold on.
If your disc is damaged and u still have receipt then return it within 10 days for a refund or exchange.

Hope this helped

If you want to see the disc then ask. Im sure u can speak or communicate.
I work for game and if u have a complaint then contact customer services.
Your game whether its new or preowned is guranteed for 90 days for faults and if u dont like it or noticed it is damaged then take it back within 10 days but if u want to see the disc first then its up 2 u to ask and not us. We aint bloody psychic

Which store is this? If they are doing this then you should report them to head office. 0844 0404951 and ask for customer services.

Preowned is generally £5-£15 cheaper than new.

Insist on a sealed pack if you are buying new

Thats not possible in most shops because they remove all the CDs due to theft.

Works for me everytime. I get a sealed one every time I ask. I doubt any GAME store doesnt carry stock off the shop floor

Unless there's a huge surplus of a title, all stock is taken out of the boxes, and the boxes go out on the floor. The stock is then kept seperately, normally behind the counter.

Its still not always possible, I too always demand sealed software and DVD's. However this quite often means I have to wait for new stock to come in.

What they prolly do is re-pack the contents and shrink-wrap it out the back. Tis easy enough to do.

A customer once requested that I do that as it was for a present
