Whats r these chars both like in RvR

And just one other thing, on a character builder to plan what u wanna be like, whats does it mean by {assasins only} on higher lvls of stealth?

If you want to take out targets from a distance and snipe them to death, be a scout/hunter/ranger. If you want to sneak up on your target and stick a blade into his butt, be a infiltrator/shadowblade/nightshade. Both can stealth well and stay hidden in the midst of combat if they train the skill right. None of them has a better potential to sneak around than the others. The difference is that assasins (shadowblades/infs/nightshades) get special abilities along with raising their stealth, such as safe fall (less damage when jumping from the battlements to flee from defenders) or detect hidden (easier to spot the stealthed archers you are supposed to kill).

Scouts excel at shooting on high range and can fight well (for a stealther) thanks to studded armor and shield. Rangers have buffs and dual wield, along with a fast recurve bow and Hunters can use spears, bring a pet and of course are still good at stuffing arrows in parts of your body they normally do not belong.

Hope that helps.

it means you dont get those skills unless you an infiltrator/shadowblade/nightshade.

Infiltrators cant really snipe, they can use the crossbow, but actually killing a grey with it alone would be difficult they'd just run away too quickly if they were in danger. You have to get up very close and personal to kill, which is also a lot of risk to yourself. You deal a lot of damage, but you are very weak yourself.

Scouts are much better at killing from afar. Much much better. If you did spec into both your melee weapon and shield I doubt you'd be too bad but then why not be an armsman who has a lot more hitpoints can use any weapon and also spec in crossbows. Most put a lot of points into longbow and stealth, and some take shields to 42 for the sole purpose of when they are attacked they can do an anytime stun shield style and run off.

From your description you sound more like a scout person than an infiltrator.

Nothing but a better stealth stat...

Are all your other character slots full? Why don't you try a Scout AND an Assasin.

Both are supposed to be fun to play, so play both :p
Thats what I do when I can't decide, and by level 10 which can be gained in a day or two I've usually decided which (if any) to continue with or delete...

Just my 2 pence worth...

I hope its harder to uncover, otherwise maxing stealth on my Scout is gonna be a waste of skillpoints.
It also gives you maximum movement if stealth is the same as your level (lev20 and lev20 stealth is the same speed as lev50 and lev50 stealth)

Hmmm... to my knowledge scouts also become faster when running in stealth as you spec more in stealth... aswell as the fact that you will be uncovered less often.

so other than moving faster and being harder to uncover, do scouts become less visbale as they put more points into stealth?

Methinks less visibility is the same as harder to uncover...the range is about a horse length within your own realm (not sure if it's the same cross-realm) outside this range you should be invisible unless you are uncovered (assassins can do this) by another high stealther....so maybe maxing stealth will make it impossible for you to be uncovered (I doubt it though :( )

Hope this helps you somewhat :)

help me somewhat it has, but what i was wondering was if u max out stealth does this make u even more insible, when in the game u can still see urself but transparent cant u? is that whats enemies can see or just memebrs of ur own realm

It makes you totally invisible to anyone whether mobs, friends or enemies (i stealthed in barrows yesterday to meet some guildmates who then came to meet me and All ran straight through me without anyone noticing i was there)
The see-through effect is for your benefit only i think...although it may appear like that to others if you are within the horse-length.
I've not tested it yet.... < /em considers doing it tonight> but it may appear like that to enemies as well.

p.s. use gray/charcoal/black dye to make the transparent effect less noticable to yourself

when i was a hunter an enemy scout came up to me whisle me and 2 mates were resting sitting in the bushes, he came up...didnt see any of him, then when about horse length away he became transparent...he stopped and pulled out his bow and fired at us, we were all only lvl 10 so we all nrly died takin him on.

My point is, whats the point being that class if when u get close to kill them they can see u? ur transparent but still easily visible.
Some of my old mates said that the enemies cant see me at all but some said that they can see u trainsparent but when u higher ur stealth u become less and less visible, any one got any comments?

Hmmmmm.....sounds like the 'scout' was playing with you.The stealth for a scout is used to move about unseen and to try to kill from a distance with the crit shot while stealthed and then escape by stealthing again.
The higher the stealth you have the better you will be able to hide from anyone who comes looking for you, even level 1 in stealth should be invisible to anyone further than the horse length away,it may depend on the seekers stealth level compared to the hiders stealth level how this is accomplished.

ur damm right the scout was playing with us, he could of taken us all out from a long way away but he came in very close...killed my 2 mates, i barley survived, just long enough to slide my sword down his gullet. Then his other scout friends came and finished his job.
Any ways thanks for everyones help. Me thinks its time for this post to die... ;)

so  to everyone who replied and :upyours: to the thread. LOL
