Scouts - Erm, how do you kill them?

Alright I realise this is just the level 44 Battleground but bloody hell....

I can take most scouts on and it's either a fair fight or I kick their arse but there's a few that are just ..unkillable.

I just want some advice to be honest cos I'm hiding atm and I don't know how to kill this guy.

He hits me on rapid fire for over 300, crits for about 900 and normal shots for about 500. He's got some level of IP but also seems to have MoS3. I have MoS3 and my stealth is capped. We see each other at the exact same moment so I assume he has max stealth too.......I react a bit faster really, and get the first shot which does f*** all to him. Even if I get the advantage he just retreats away from me to ck using engage (fs) and I can then just /shrug and go rest.

Both of us are using buffbots, mine is TOA capped and I assume his is too. My armour isn't the best but my stats are all maxed out, and my bow is 99%. My Bow is 44+10, Stealth 34+10, and Spear 31+10.

Basically in a straight fight I cannont win. And I just saw him beat the crap out of a 44.5 Thane in melee..

How can I kill him?

Keep your pet on passive and let it intercept all arrows, while you nuke em (or mezz first if there´s more than one). Few secs later they are dead. At least thats how I do it.

instant pet him, pull out bow, shoot him... easy .... or you can go into melee with him, that should win the fight aswell.

engaging requires end. try shooting him till his end bar is empty. doubt he'll block more then 50% after that

you wont be able to send pet, and shoot him, as he will block most, or engage you.

best you can do is send pet, try to run thru him and hit him in the back all the time (as 2h suck vs shield). gl hf

Whip out the pet before you do anything else. He can slam you, but he can't shoot cuz he's interrupted by pet. His best options then are to either slam pet also and run, or melee you directly. If your pet is low level you are screwed:-P
And if you as a hunter can't beat a scout in melee, then there really is no hope for you. And you might wanna optimize your armor more, as he seems to have an edge there, prolly af 102 overcharged gear. Heck, I got overcharged af 70 99% on my thidranki cave shammie:-P So nice to have access to lgm this and lgm that:-P

Erm, I beat a scout in melee while I was on 20% hp and ooe. Old frontiers. He was also ooe though. That was with my anti scout/mincer crafted thrust spear.

Pet counts as another attacker, scouts use small shields which are only best at 1 attacker as far as I know, you'll be surprised how often you can wack passed his shield with pet out compared to without.

You can try the good old forward stick forward stick methord to get Razor Edge also.

My pet is balls, only like level 10 Never hits, I just use it because an opponent has a penalty from two attackers, no matter the level. And it can hit casters.

I kick most scouts bums all over this BG but I think this is just one that's decided to go doolally on SCing his stuff, and the quality of it.

You reckon it's worth getting a high level pet then , sacrificing spear?

OT - I heard some people are doing spear spec hunters with low level bow, and high level BC+spear - Any thoguhts on that?

My hunter has 50spear 32beast 40bow 26stealth, not in any ToA equipment, but the other night it performed pretty well tbh.

Well, having 39 spear for the back stun is quite nice. I think your bow is a bit too high, but should prolly end up at 45 bow at level 50 anyway. It's a matter of what you like. I used to be 44 spear, 40 bow, 35 stealth, 32 bc, now I'm 39, 45, 35, 32. Did it mostly to get sureshot and one more volley shot. Very seldom used the followup to rear stun anyway, and it has been tested and concluded that above 51 total in a weapon gives very little. And level 10 pet is too low imo, look at it funny and it dies:-P

I usually kill them by grouping with them certain death - they get all overconfident and start expecting things like heals to save them.

Get a decent lvl pet (you would have to give up something for that, horror) and just set the pet onto the scout while you run away... maybe lose some HP, but scout cannot shoot you anymore, cannot stealth, and now you can gank scout while pet chews on him... blue con pet takes 5 hits or so to take down...

roll a body sorc and use the insta aoe dex debuff...makes even the capped dex casters/archers shoot slower than your grandma....

my thidranki hunter is 21 spear, 6 bow and it really rox. In the bg's you don't need bow spec that bad and with my buffbot I 1-2shot casters (1shot when proc goes off or crit). So with spear spec I'd just get out the pet and engage him in melee. If he goes into engage, hit unstyled to get his end down and wait, then style him into pieces.
I also carry pots on my thid chars, which can come in handy, especially to heal up. Sounds crazy? Well Thid with pots is uber with runie as you can solo kill groups of 2-3ppl

Just respec'd (at 44.5) to 39 bow, 39spear, 34stealth. And an even shitter pet I'll get the pet later.

Anyway I just melee killed about everything I could come across. Yep, the coward scout who was retreating all the time too
