With the intro of passive TS in Frontiers I wondered if peps have thought of different specs with a lower stealth?

How about....

50 LB
42 shield
34 thrust/slash
20 stealth

Gives the best of everything as far as I can see if you can survive with a modified 31-41 stealth (I'd be 35)
Any mincers with about 20 in stealth let me know how good/bad it is to avoid groups?

scout will be insanly overpowered (at very high rank )

passive AP 3 + Shield spec + IP and bodyguard on the Minstrel who's running ablat, and both should be nearly unkillable :m00:

tbh its about time.

finally got my scout to 44 just recently after about a year of him being lvl 28 :D hopefully he'll be lvl 50 by the time frontiers gets here.

im going for a spec of :

45 LB (for RF2 and in new frontiers the second best volley)
42 Shield (for slam)
35 Stealth (seems to be the standard)
rest in thrust, about 28ish

this gives decent bow dmg and slam for defence, with 50 stealth at RR5.

loved my scout in bg3, got a few nice videos with fraps, didnt get killed by SB's much either :D really cant wait for proper rvr tho.

nerf BB's tbh, i cba to sit there and pay for 2 accounts just so im going to have the edge in rvr. never mind tha fact that even if i could, i couldnt run 2 accounts at the same time with a 56k modem :(

This is going to be my new spec. get a few levels of Mastery of Stealth and the speed in stealth should be ok. TS 3 aswell ofc.

I see many scouts rejoicing and saying 'it's our time to pwn assassins', but surely people should agree that making something blatently overpowered is never a good thing, even if it favours yourself. If this ability goes live it's going to be sad for the archers because the ability will be taken away soon enough... and as usual they will overnerf and take away other stuff as well.

The thing that surprises me most is that the Mythic designers seem to have learned absolutely nothing about the whole See hidden fiasco. I used to have confidence in their ability to balance things out when given enough time, but since buffshearing and seeing what the RA review will bring i lost quite some confidence in it.

One thing is for sure: whining about stealthzerging will be over, because there's gonna be a very very good reason for stealthers not to move alone anymore. And since they are trying to move regular RvR to zerg vs zerg, my guess is they want the same to apply to stealth rvr. Assassin will no longer be a relevant term.

imho with the quote from methos, i would spec my scout as:

50 LB
50 thrust/slash
27 stealth
10 shield

my thinking is this....
ok, your in a prime area, 1 enemy in frontier, nothing else insight, you aim, and fire a volley of arrows at your opponent.
he gets to you, most scouts if you hadnt killed him by now would slam and run...why?
kill the MF.

any responce is welcome :cool:

i suppose so, i think that the 1000 range may be a tad OTT, i assume this will be balanced once it goes live.

tbh i see alot of ppl getting unhappy about new frontiers when all i can see are the benefits, so what if a few classes loose some nice abilities, the overall gains will hopefully be:

New maps, this time where terrain plays a part in planning

New keeps, so that sieging will be more complex and fun than it is now

New RA's such as the free RR5 abilities

New teleporting system, so that there is a strategic reason for trying to control certain keeps, and there is a front line

New battle tracker, so that huge battles can errupt in the bottlenecks as well as smaller tactical engagements in the harder to reach areas of the frontiers (such as the agro forest)

as well as anything else not yet on the website.

You can if u have a semi decent pc (amd 1700+ 512DDR n gforce4) and use classic/SI client.
In fact i used that to go from rr1 to rr7L5 with my infil.

Ick no point heading out there solo just to be killed off by either stealthers cos I cant get in a fg cos my class has been nerfed into impotence.

Again see above..... Armsmen should get "smoke a full 20 pack of cigarettes" RA at RR5 just so we can let out the stress of being one of the worse maintained classes by mythic.....There is talk of maybe double speccing being sorted after 1.70 but tbh after 2 years of trying I doubt mythic will do anything about it.... they have all the frontiers bugs to fix, then to program there new PvE expansion.

Oh well least it'll be easier to try and get in the top ten RR Armsmen on Duskwave I suppose..... cos I'll probably be the only arms left on excal..... well least until MEO comes around ;)

SURELY a company like this can balance something SIMPLE like TS BEFORE it goes live?????

I am looking forward to the total change of mechanics and new maps, but i'm starting to believe Mythic's employees are not in tune with the game's PvP mechanics.

Well, it's fair. Archers have been underpowered a long time now. While all assains have been to good for a long time. Archers might get nerfed in the future if this proves to be overpowered. But, then it's even, atleast.

tbh scouts haven't been _that_ underpowered... just not played the right way :touch:

Scouts wont become gods of anything, the only changes in frontier is
that you can now spec for groupplay. Also ts line will help on solo, but
again there is the same limits to what you can kill as there is now, and most
other classes seems to have gotten new tricks too.

No doubt frontier seems like an improvement, and i think it is, but there is
a long long way to being godlike like just after beta.

You target the clueless SB at 1k range, you attempt a critshot against the clueless SB, you will release your shot and reload, you shot your critshot against the clueless SB and hit for 6/700 dmg, you will release your shot and reload, you shot and hit for 3/400 and release AGAIN your third shot.... get the picture, clueless SB? :m00:

you dont seem to play the same game as i do, so many times ive been tsed on longer then 1k range and still killed him without to much effort, and now it will be even easier when most scouts doesnt have any dmg boosting ra´s or defensive such as dodger etc while i still have loads of them, and you do know you can interupt a scout with charges when running towards him?

Yes, SBs will have loads of deff ra's like.................................................................................................................................................... ah yeah, vanish and pray u dont randomport inside TS range.

And ofc scouts wont have deff ra's, i means, phisical deffence is not a deff RA you know. You wont be fodder ofc, but archers wont be fodder againts assasins like now, do you think you will kill any archer in sight fairly easy like you do now? i wish you the best luck, really :m00:

U will own archers rr4 with a assassin rr6, like an archer rr6 will own a assassin rr4 and 6 :) and more :p

+ they can use fire bow+arrows with more bonus to ur class..


If this see the light i think it will be the time to /quit daoc..

Good luck hitting the SB when he faces you... Most Hunters that shoots straight at me will get evaded and there's nothing like starting a fight with DF.....

Do i have to say more? my strong 3?dps dmg shield will outdamage you if you try to hit me in melee

You can run 2 accounts on 56k with very little adverse effects , no more than a single account to be honest...

~edit~ main pc runs TOA and 2nd pc runs SI client , had probs at first with SI on 2nd acc and lotsa of lag but that turned out to be a crappy gfx card - running fine with geforce 440mx now.. not tried TOA on 2nd acc though.

with the new purge timer slams useless... with alll the duel wield classes out there shields r worthless. hence im only speccing enough n it for engage.

as for those claiming scouts r gonna be gods. u obviously dont read many forms. only reason people are claiming scouts are uber is cos they get killed by em at keeps . and on top of a lvl 10 tower a scout cant be hit unless by siege. hence scouts can sit up there and farm al day as long as keep dont get taken . hence tons of rp's hence people whine!! nothing to do with being gods.
