Scout spec?

Yes I know this has been discussed about 1 million times, but I can't find any of em...

I auto-trained a scout so it has 12 free lb points, but dunno what to do with

the rest of my points...?

I'm 100% sure going for 42 shield..

Any tips would be very nice! :worthy:

I think he's just doing it for abit more ws, doubt you need lvl34 slash style if you have slam tho.

30 stealth, 39 melee, 40 bow, 42 shield

I used to love this spec, best of both worlds, sniper + weak s/s tank.

Yeah but doesn´t really make sense to raise ws till 1 point before next style when he mise well spec one more and put the missing stealth points into his SC template if that´s his wish. *shrug*

It´s all about playstyle I guess.
The reason why 29 slash is so popular is, that Amy slash is an all time style and - at the same time - leaves you enough specpoints in stealth to hit the optimal 50 stealth with items and RR. Higher ws (while keeping 42 shield and the 45 lb) means you´ll have to sacrifice stealth and leave it somewhere in nomans land (i.e. 30 to 40-ish) -> prime target for assassins.
If you decide to drop stealth, you should do it consequently and go for 18 stealth and boost your ws even more.

That´s one decent spec. Note however, that some people are recommending to go 50 lb, 18 weapon until you´ve gained enough rp´s to buy Purge and IP to be semi competitive in melee.
I`m currently playing 29 slash, 42 shield, 45 lb and I like it a lot.

All scouts are bridge/tower campers so stealth isn't really needed!

The only difference is 10str compared to a Briton, which imo isn't much.

Just keep in mind if an assasin even looks at you, your dmg/ws will drop through the floor, but thats only 2 classes and some casters out of how many in the game? :

I think slash line is generaly better overal, even being a fan of the thrust line, all I miss is the straight off stun from block, in slash line its a 2 style combo, which has more chance of failing.

Keep to a few miniums and no spec will be a gimp when it comes to a scout, all about what your playstyle is which you can only find out by playing and trying specs imo .

Its crap compared to thrust. Only, only reason to go slash is malice as a scout.

To minimise your slash dmg gimpiness you need to try to get as high str as possible which is fun along with everything else u need to try to cap.
You're also affected more by the str/con debuff from assassins.

When experimenting with my scout I've tried 18 thrust, 50 thrust, 34 thrust, 50 slash and 44 thrust.
I found the damage at 50 slash comparable to 34 in thrust but you actually use more endurance with spammy slash and dia slash than just spamming beartooth with sting as a backup.
I think I had 314 str and 403 dex for the slash/thrust tests.

no reason not to go thrust with legendary weps now tbh. FAR higher wepskill for a scout and as said above, beartooth/sting back up works just fine. u do some dmg while trying to land stun instead of pissing away ur end bar getting evaded and then getting insta purged when u finally land it. ok so beartooth isnt 9secs, but the immunity timer is shorter too

mines 33 stealth 50 lb 42 shield and 21 trust

with mos 3 and other goodies such ip mop 1v1 with hib/mid steathers i can hold my ground fairly well have duel a couple of alb infills and won so i am happy with it useing weapon with lt proc that seems to go of 1 in 4 to 5 hits and shield with heat dd for added damage on the slam

ps and no i dont tower hug (if you see tower on fire and no one around and the dorrs damage chase are it was me trying to get some mids to come and play hehe

34 Stealth, 45 bow, 29 slash, 42 shield (without auto-train). Jack of all trades, spec. For slash, you really need to get malice, i got it already in my scout not yet lvl 5 tho, but slash i got too battler and traitor's dagger, and they not enough since battler = good arti for charge, and traitors just doesn't proc that mutch, and gets resisted a lot. Hope i'll notice some big differences in my melee with malice at lvl 5.
