Penalty against United at Old Trafford, anyone know if thats the first time this season?

Prolly the first time this decade :)

As for Carra at right back - yep, we can lose Alonso and we can lose Arbeloa just before the game, and still stick it to ya!

Roll on second half! :D

What a bad day. We will still win the League, but losing to the scouse ***** is horrible, and even worse losing like that. One off day for Vidic and it was all over.

Man United are clearly being outplayed by a better team.

oh dear. 4.

Deebs: Better team on the day, not overall, and not over the season. To do that they would need to be above us in the league.

Actually it is not over yet, look at how Liverpool played in Europe last week. 4 points and a game in hand is all you have.

Yes Deebs, we would have to loose 3 games for them to win, and they would have to win all of theirs. We have two games we may loose, IMO. Villa and Arsenal. I'm simplifying and not considering draws. Effectively we still have a 7 point lead, with that game in hand, I do not see Fergie letting this performance go unpunished, and the next game should show a whiplashed team playing on form.

What a great result, thank god. That will piss off all the Manchester supporters (90% of them nowhere near Manchester :p )

To be fair Chet you thought Man Unitshit would win easily today. Football has a habit of changing the game plan. Anyway, today the best team won by a long mile.

Thanks for the confidence but I'm very much doubting the Villans (sic) can win at Old Trafford or Anfield. Draws are the best we can hope for.

Was a great game today, funnily enough I remember the last time Man U got trashed at home like that by QPR back in '92!

I think Liverpool's first team is the strongest in the premier league but the reason they arent winning the league is down to the lack of depth in their team - but hey theres still time to catch Man Utd yet...

I tend to think the reason they don't win is because they aren't consistent enough, even with todays win I suspect they'll loose in the next few weeks.

Well that was...unpleasant. Scary thing is, right up until the sending off I still thought United played the better football and I was comfortable that we'd get back to even terms (compare possession and corners won), but Liverpool played the kind of counterattacking game that we're supposed to be masters of, and it all went to shit.

Ah well, the silver lining is that Liverpool (and Chelsea) will still keep fighting for the Prem all the way which isn't a bad thing for United at all; so long as they are both chasing multiple trophies (Chelsea 3 and Liverpool 2) then the depth of squads should tell.

Weird thing is, I thought this morning that Liverpool might win (not by that much though); have you noticed the teams that do beat United tend to double them? Man City last year and West Ham the year before.

That was a thoroughly enjoyable match for the neutral, The two main turning points were Evra's foul on Gerrard to make it 2-1 just before the break and Vidic's clumsiness to get sent off. After Torres' goal Liverpool slowly started to get back into the game and had a good 10+ minute spell leading up to Evra's challenge.

Aurelio's goal to make it 3-1 was sheer class and a rightful punishment in addition to the red card, too many times I've seen players commit fouls outside the area denying a clear goalscoring opportunity and the resulting free-kick not go in. Dossena's finish was superb (it also means I get an assist for Reina in my fantasy team :D)

I thought (for a change) the ref had a fantastic game and got all 3 of the major decisions spot on, it's about time one of these games wasn't ruined by inept officials (Hi Mike Riley)

Well, I've had a thoroughly fucking fantastic day. After the match went to a friends "holi" party - big Indian festival. Am covered head to toe in paint, soaked wet through, drunk an entire vodka fountain (must have had at least a litre), two bottles of wine and a fuckload of beer...

...best day in, like, for fucking evah :D

Completely agree, thought the ref was fantastic. He must be the only one not on the Man Utd payroll.

Gerrard's as much of a diver as Ronaldo.

Marvellous. That post has "sour grapes" written all over it :)

True, the only divers that can come close to Ronaldo's quality are those that use the 5m board....
