What do you guys think about the scoring system. Personally I think it is pants. Take this for an example. We played HS on dust, we lost as T 12-6 and won as CT 15-1 I think. Now we did better them then as Ts winning 6 compared to their 1 and did better as CT winning 15 to their 12. Overall we did better on each side then they did. But we shared the points. Wouldn't it be better if we just got points on who won the game overall?????

The reason we have used this system to start off with, the same system as was used in previous seasons, is that its to avoid the problems with using combined scores.

For example, if you were to win as CT's 10-0 say, then you would know as T's that you could just camp out the opposition because they would HAVE to win by 10 rounds to have a chance of getting any points. This leads to all sorts of strategies such as damage limitation, which imo is not what the game is about. You go into a map as either side to win that map, not to lose it by a small margin.

This point i believe is why some leagues now decided to use Charges Only method of scoring, which is something i am looking at for the latter stages of the competition when it will be necessary to have a "result" on the night
, however i wasn't totally happy with using this system from the start of the group sections.

I agree

The way the system is done atm is the best way, so as to make each round as valuable. Each round should be counted individually! It'f fine how it is!

Charges only is the only way to play CS in a competitive way...

one thing that confuses me. on q3 ctf for example u get points for capturing the flag, for defence etc etc. cos u get no points in cs for this , only 1 point for the team,it seems on public servers ppl often ignore the hostages in favour of frags

yes bigfoot CO rules is probably what you want, if u dont know what it is basically on cs_ maps only ct rounds count, and on de_ maps only t rounds count. So they can fuck up as much as they want, fail, but it doesn't matter cos the other team dont particularly benefit (apart from money really). it means there is no point camping when your objective is to do summat.

CO rules are a bit silly imo. Is too much like deathmatch.

LOOPHOLE

Im sorry but I disagree entirely with this method of scoring.

Also I have found a loophole in the method of scoring - for example:

As ct's, you cannot get any points - so the only thing to do is to stop the terrorists bombing one of the targets.
Therefore when playing as ct, if your entire team comitted suidide every round (ie by typing "kill" in console) then the terrorists would win every round by elimination - thus winning no points.

I personally cant see what is wrong with the standard scoring system - and you mention that if a team went 10-0 up then they would camp every round the next game - But what is wrong with that - if the team does well enough to get a large lead, then surely if they played the next game the same way they would win by the same amount - therefore it dont matter if they camp.

Please tell me if I have any of my facts wrong, but I just cant see why this method of scoring is any better than the traditional method.
