Just watched this. Very interesting. Its only a matter of time before we get fusion reactors.

I watched it when it first came on TV, was a really good watch. The problem with sustainable energy on this scale is that someone will want to profit from it, and that is what will delay it.

Fusion is all good, and its a prospect of future planning, but it seems its a little too long away in terms of technology for a large scale energysource. Endothermic energy on the other hand could practicaly work in a matter of years AFAIK, if scientists just got their funding togheter...

They tested all 192 lasers as the national ignition facility during this week, not at full power though, that will happen in march, but that might actually give ignition :)

And didnt you guys already long for fusion power? :eek:

i read in some magazine, dunno how trustworthy, that they had created a fusion reactor that could create energy enough to keep itself at status quo

Nope Huntingtons, none of the fusion projects have reached breakeven point yet.
