Its illegal, no im not goa staff, but it is!
You're not allowed to modify game files, doing this technicly is. I'd suggest you steer clear of it, as there are related things that can do nasty nasty stuff!

It's already been discussed previously here on FH, with GM interaction, and it was indeed deemed illegal and can possibly result in your game access being revoked.

All I fiddle was what you seen here, and thats as far as I'm going, cause I thought it counted as custom UIs.. and if GOA will ban me for this ... I pay subs for 4 accounts, with all expansions paid for on all of them for 3 years.. maybe they will give me some goodwill eh

I sincerely doubt that they'd ever decide not to sanction people, if they find someone in violation with the rules - especially as, if their superiors found out about a GM not following the instruction book, they're standing to lose their job.

However then again, goofing around with a little bit of graphic and some sound files, which is only client side, is on such a small scale, that I doubt it's worth it for them, to even consider trying to track it down, the time is simply spent much better on other matters (at least till NF, I recall reading about Mythic having upped client side security there).

afaik its not illegal. The changes you make will only be seen on your screen and therefore it wont affect gameplay for others than your self.
