Scan suck!

Was wondering if anyone else has had any problems with them?

Basically I ordered all the parts for my new computer off them 2 months ago... about a month ago the system stopped working due to a fux0red ram chip :(

Well I returned the chip after testing it about 2 weeks ago (it said in their online returns tracker it was received on the 14th November) and the return was at stage 3 of 8 (Item received) next was item testing blah blah and it's been stuck there for 2 weeks....

After emailing them 3 times and not getting a responce, I decided to ring them today at about 3pm sat on hold for 1/2 an hour before giving up :(

I've found they alright, although when you get a problem a lot of the online retailers come out rather bad.

SCAN SUX INDEED

all the hardware i bought from then sucked. 2 ASUS m/boards and 256MB pc2700 all failed. Now I still haven't had my money back and phoning doesn't help cos nobody is home.

*Gulp* I can't afford to lose £110 worth of stuff ouch... I have so much other stuff off them as well... I hope it doesn't fail :(

Bought more mem of crucial today as well... I'm gonna have to budget tight considering I probs won't get a refund for ages!!

It seems bloody stupid to me though taking that long or not bothering to take returns seriously... they've just lost a customer who's likely to buy lots of hardware in the future... and if I'd had great service I would of used them again which obviously I won't go near them again!

I had a few problems in returning hardware and getting a refund, but the threat of a county court summons concentrated their minds wonderfully.

:( I now have a computer made of 95% products bought through scan which isn't working... so gonna have to send bits back :( *starts to cry* :(

I recieved a dodgy motherboard from them which just wouldnt start, I sent it back so they sent another dodgy one back with a different problem .

I've had huge problems with scan in the past (couple of years ago now).

Ordered a top of the range graphics card - Geforce 256 DDR (teh woAh!) which i received pretty quickly. Initially i thought "wow impressive service" until i put the GFX card in and the graphics were all fuxored with scrolling pixels and flashing coloured bits. I tried it in two other mobos to check it wasn't my AGP port and the same prob occured. I called Scan to advise them and i was told i couldn't get my money back until they tested it and verified it was faulty. The card went back and they verified it was faulty after WEEKS iirc. In this time, i told them to reverse the charge on the credit card and cancel the order. "fine" they said. Then one day the credit card was billed again and i found a new GFX card on my doorstep. I told them that they had sent me unwanted/unsolicited goods and charged me for it, and to have a courier pick it up and refund the credit card. Again, this took WEEKS. Eventually i called up and got to speak to a "manager" who sounded foreign who was rude, arrogant and fucking useless.

In a nutshell, the courier eventually picked the card up and scan refunded the money but only after lots of fucking around and nasty/useless customer service advisors.

Scan = wank

I'm so busy right now and they're doing the same with my b0rked mobo... don't have time to sort em out... they're only open till bloody 5:30 and I've been getting home at about 7 for the last week or two.... GRRRRRRRRRR!

yep , ive had a few probs like that b4 ........last 1 was with overclockers
4 the last 2 years or so the only way i buy stuff is 2 go 2 the place and buy everythink u need 4 the system in one go , then go back and build it test it ect etc over the weekend.......anything wrong withany parts ....1st thing mon morning go and smash down there door......unless there allready open;)
