Critblade i can imagine is fun, but your really depenedint on getting the jump on someone (which is after all what the class is suposed to be about) but with current trends its more like stealth war, emain has 2 sides, the fg's and zergs roaming to kill each other, and the solo and stealther zergs going to kill each other. If you want to take part in this Stealther -v- Stealther i suggest get some LA enough to use 2 weapons without capped damage (dunno how much LA spec you need to be without capped damage), as with a 2hander your really gonna be stuck to using Anytimer's, imagine an infil hitting you every 2 seconds and you swinging at 4 second delay, what hope in hell you got off pulling off hamstring when he hits so fast.
LA is getting nerfed and apperntly it does equal damage to DW/CS (dunno for sure) but your still at a down side because you need to spec it higher than infils/NS's, but it still has the most usefull style for a Shadowblade out of all speclines and thats Comeback -> Frostygaze, this stun although harder to get off than Diamond Back or the Dragon Fang, still can turn a fight in your favour. 5-Spec is still a valid template imo and its usualy something around...
(that 5-spec is just off the top of my head and might be a little wrong)
That said tho, I imagine Shadowzerker spec is out the window, because its what Mythic intended on stopping. Soulblade might be ok, never tried it before/after 1.62 so i dont know what it was like before nerf, and 5-spec (imo the best) and CB are valid afaik.
Atm iam 48 crit, 36 sword, 40 stealth and 34 envenom. I can tell u 40 stealth is a baaaaad choice .... gonna respec and gain some more sword. So i will go 48 crit some 43 sword or 42, 34 stealth and 34 envenom
Here is my spec post 1.62 (i think! - its still open to change)
45 Swo
39 CS
35 Env
35 Ste
20 Left Lettuce (TM)
Next few rr points are gonna have to be stuck into dualist reflexes. Id need another respec stone if I was to go full crit so this is basically the best thing i could come up with - dont suppose it matters though, Im still gonna hit like an arthritic gerbal.
ack, dont get DR...well I wouldn't if I were you. I was 5 spec and invested in DR1; it added 3 damage to my caps and a tiny bit of extra damage per normal style, a complete waste unless of course you get better returns to scale at higher levels, but I dont think you do.
First off I dont intend being a solo critblade (or buffed solo critblade) as quite frankly I think id suck at it. So with the rest of the Amazons of Midgard RvR group, my spec will be (when I get to 50, only 44.5 at the moment)
I just fancy a nice big PA to take out (or at least hurt) a caster annoying the group...but Im kind of stuck as to a decent combination of weapons to use. With Envenom 11, I can currently use the first Enervating (+11 spec, 2L0) and the 20th DoT..its just finding two decent weapons to put them on.
At the moment, I use a hand axe for PA, switch to 2h great axe for CD and SS..and depending on my mood, the phase of the moon and the time of day Il use one or the other to continue the fight. I dont think Im getting a decent deal with the hand axe though, sure its fast and over time I can generate more damage than with the 2h (due to procs, damage adds, crits etc) but it doesnt seem as though it will be too useful for RvR to plug away with. Obviously, I dont use two 1h weapons due to losing a lot of damage the way LA works. Occasionally Il use the 2h for PA, but the damage increase (in PvE, anyway) isnt that great plus Im not entirely sure Id like to stand and stare at a mage Id just PA'd for 5.5 seconds before I hit again.
So..if there are any critblades who would like to give me advice..go for it, Im welcome to suggestions that would make me more effective (apart from spec, I dont want to be the same as everyone else and couldnt care less about being 'uber', just want to have fun).
I'm afreid Hellskor is right..shadowcrafter it is.. I had my needel crit for awesome dmg against a piece of runed leather...yeah ok it was laying down..but still....
