It was fucking amazing! The trailer makes you think it'll be funny, if a little cheesy. However after watching for a bit you realise there's a good story behind it and the action is 'dare i say' KICK ASS!

I can best describe the film as "Kill Bill 2 meets Spiderman". Funnily enough there are parts of spiderman's story, way of life in the film along with a scene which instantly makes you think of Kill Bill 2 (even the music is the same i think!)

Really great film, for me it was like Zombieland, much better than i'd expected.

Saw this tonight myself, it's not the film you expect, and it is very good.

It's got a decent plot, good humour and some very cool action.

Started great, sagged in the middle, ending was meh.

I just couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to think that an 11 year old girl was capable, just didn't work for me.

Went to see it on saturday night, really enjoyed it. Some cheesy bits, but overall it was funny, well paced, decently acted, and just entertaining. Some good choices of music in there too, really set the scene well.

Yeah I loved the music :)

Big G you don't need to suspend your belief as it's not based on a true story/event. It's not like you went to see Spiderman and thought "nah, i cant believe he got bitten by a spider and gained spider powers". Tohtori's mentioned it countless times on other films/tv shows. He said you have to go in there with the right mindset.

Of course you have to suspend your disbelief!

I went in expecting a good film, my mates raved about it. As I said, I thought it started off great, I laughed out loud quite a few times, but for me it sagged/slowed and I didn't enjoy the ending.

Quite simple.

Enjoyed it a lot, but the comic was better (even blacker humour, and more satisfying ending).

Awwww.... The dailyfail have closed the article to further comments, I wonder why? It's a surprise they did not delete the current comments.

It is brilliant. Really slick and quite funny. Yes as a parent, it is WRONG -but only in a Tarrantino way and that's entirely what makes it funny/cool. Great entertainment. Good movie.:D

that night vison counterstrike scene was fucked up - but very good. I actually thought: holy shit, it's counterstrike! even the movement of the arms and the way she looks at her empty gun are just like in modern FPS games.

overall, loved it bigtime.

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it!!

It was a little bit weird because we seemed to be the only people in the cinema realising big daddy was talking like the old batman tv series which we found hilarious!!

My first use of the internet was an email to Chris Tookey at the daily fail. He said East is East was a good film and I thought he was a ****.

He didnt reply though :(

Yeh I guess if you thought you were going to see it only for pez-dispenser speed laughs it might get a bit boring ;)

Lapped this up from start to finish from the Spiderman references, Adam West batman injokes, plot twists, background, detail. They even veered into American Pie territory for some of it. The soundtrack was near perfect for this style of film.

Small detail but I even chuckled at the number of British actors they sneaked into what should have been a US-only style film. Half the main cast of Lock Stock were there in minor roles :D
