Probably one for Jonty?

Ive connected my SATA drive to my Mo Bo. Its not partitioned or formated yet. Ive enabled RAID as this seems to be the only way for it to be detected and Ive installed the RAID controller. If I boot from my normal IDE HD I cant see the drive to partition and format it from inside WinXP. I can however see it under the device manager as a Promise raid Disc. How do I format it?

You have tried:

Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > Disk Management?

naw it wasnt that after all. The drive wasnt supplied with the Disk Wizard from Seagate. Once I used this the drive was found and I could partition it. After that it was a doddle. Ive cloned my old HD as Jonty had told me, using Norton Ghost and its all up and working. the new drives noticably faster too....gREAT
