Oh balls.

Managerless again, bring on someone new I guess. I wish him well, no hard feelings. Arsenal in a week or so, bring em on!

Oh how I laughed when I first heard this. Some of my friends are Tottenham fans and they were going on like he was the new Wenger or something. He really has dropped you guys in the shit now.

It's always been my belief that he was only brought in to appease fans as they wanted a 'Big Name' manager. All the background work was being done by Arnesen and now I wouldn't be all that suprised if we don't bring in a new manager but leave Jol there and have him bring in an assistant.

Tottenham should stop thinking of themselves as some glorious club with a huge following. They're average, they should stop whinging and thank god they're not in the 1st division.

Well, I won't pretend I'm not pleased to see Tottenham in the shit, but does anyone know what the "personal problems" actually were? I bet it was a bust up behind the scenes. Something always goes wrong with Spurs managers.

I think he just realised that the club was going nowhere. He is probably a skilled manager and thought that it was a bad decision to move to a mediocre Premiership club.
I read in the paper that he was having trouble speaking English and communicating with the players also. He probably couldn't get used to life in England either.

Bollocks to all that.

He clearly left due to the wanking spurs club policy of having a director of football. Fucking idiots are destroying themselves nice and fast with this.

Perhaps he got sick and tired of listening to the 606 phone-in every saturday, god the spurs fans make me want to slit my wrists. They really do deserve a few years in the 1st division, to make them realise how lucky they are to be in the premiership at all.

He's used to working under this system, apparently it's very popular in france and he worked under it at lyon where he was most successful. He left, as far as I can tell, because the assitant (jol) was closer to the director of football than he was and he probably felt that his authority was challenged. Also there were lots of rumours that the two (jol and santini) didn't get on.

Jol will do good I think and arnesen was very popular at PSV.

I recently read that the "personal problems" Santini was leaving for, were his mother in law dying in a hospital in St ettienne. His wife going crazy about it and attacking santini in his hotel room cos he could'nt get enough time away from spurs to spend in france with said dying mother.....

Not sure exactly how much truth here but would explain alot, and im sure a little push from arneson on top of this would have made him quit..

I doubt it, he has turned a failing and quite boring team into quite an exciting attacking team -and one that can actually win matches.

If he manages to keep key players over the summer, he should be challenging for between 6th and 4th next season. He may actually get them to 6th and a European spot this season. The only lure Ajax should hold for him is playing in Europe, which he should be able to manage where he is.

PLus it will cost Ajax a lot of money if they take him mid-contract.
