Oh and it has to be a strong full fat cheese, cheddar or Red Leicster, none of your slim line half fat/low fat cheeses that do not drip when under the grill, no no and the bacon should be fatty and the beans full strength not low fat slimmer beans without sugar.

Marmite... never tasted it but omg it sounds nasty! (sorry but it does). But to the point (or rather off point ) that makes me think of Matthais Chivalry, a fine paladin and once co-GM of our guild. He had this thing for marmite, always talked about it. Oh yeah and that woman from Xfiles (can't believe I can't remember her name right now). Marmite and Scully, Scully and Marmite.
Geez I miss Matt, he was funny.
As for sandwiches, I have noticed as an yank we have much different tastes then you, but I have noticed you guys LOVE bacon. True, the perfect BLT is wonderful every once and again, but I have more varied tastes.
If making it at home, nothing makes me happier than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Chunky Jif peanut butter and red raspberry (organic, local) jam on homemade (yes i bake) honey wheat/oatmeal bread. MMMMMMM YUMMY!
If I'm going out to somewhere like Subway, I like the grilled chicken with tons of veggies. But i think my most favorite is a Philly Steak Cheese Sandwich. Lean beef cooked with green peppers and onions, with provolone (or is it mozzerella (not sure, just know its white cheese) and then pour some steak sauce over that. Served with fresh cut and fried french fries and lemonade... OMG HEAVEN!!!!! (they have a bunch of these little restaurant chains in malls all over the US).

For all you folks who don't know what a Martino is, lemme explain 
It's a sandwich containing the following ingredients:
- Minced steak (which has been mixed with spices, eggs)
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Tabasco & that other hot sauce (Worcester?)
- Chopped oignons
- Lettuce
- Optional: tomato, cucumber, pickles

martino can be made with ketchup+mustard OR with martino sauce (which basically is the same but mixed in a bottle )
you can make "smos martino" which is martino with extra "smos" ( = lettuce, tomato, egg ,and sometimes onion, carrots, coleslaw, ... )

Uni chicken sandwich rocked.
