Grab a tank and run full speed at the castle wall, but at an angle so you will hit one of the outcrops.

This will throw the tank up onto the ledge. Now drop into the courtyard and get into the gunner seat and aim the mortor at the flag. Any baddie so much as steps near it drop a mortor on them.

You can kill most anything that comes in.

The downside to this is a good bombing run can take the tank out and then you have muppets who jump into the driving seat and run it into the wall (Which will flip it).

Whats wrong with turrets?

I caused chaos on Friday night on a BW pubby. I built a tank, got a descent gunner (can't remember who, sy) and launched the tank into the nme courtyard. The gunner went nuts straffing the walls taking out the turrets while I drove around the base blowing the mines. We soon became a lead magnet, we must of had every nme player shooting at us. Just before the tank blew I ejected and legged it, most of them followed , I didn't get too far away

Nothing. But with the tank only 1 mortor shell will kill instantly, 2 max.

Also the motor explodes on contact so it's a lot faster hitting then the turrets.

Great tactic for offence - but not in defence...

What happens when Mr. Rambo Flag Capper decides that empty driver seat in your tank looks like a great way to:

A: Escape

B: Get some roadkill ownage on your team m8's?

Hmmm....

However - Im still gonna go do it to the enemy base.

Well they have to get into the tank. It is actually hard to do if you tried to grab the flag first as they would of got a mortor in thier teeth.

Lets assume they actually manage to get in, there is a good chance the tank will flip trying to leave the courtyard. Even if it escapes the fall from the ledge will damage the tank.

Lastly everything will track the tank as hostile. So turrets and missile launchers will work. Add to the fact you have a gunner who will happly help drain the shields of the tank.

Granny, the courtyard is right in the middle of all the action, team m8s are constantly moving through it to get the inventory stations and from them to the vehicle pad. Letting off tank mortar in the middle of that is undoubtedly gona take out some of your team m8s
Anyway if your going to put a tank in the courtyard why not just park it on the flag

Because you can't. Also I've seen people sit on the flag in a heavy. This has the effect of making speed cappers grab easier as the flag will slowly raise above your head (to stop people sitting on the flag).

As for your mates running around, you don't spam the flag with the mortor. Just if you see a baddy about to grab you lob a mortor (one will normally do). Odds on the place will get spammed by any heavies up on the battlements as well as bombers flying by, so the courtyard isn't normally the best of spots to read a book in.

BTW I find if you go slowly at the wall you have a better chance of getting up, then you can slam on the thrusters (on a tank? whatever) at the last second.

yeah i was messing about offline the other day and managed to get in by driving slowly along the wall then turning round.. works on most walls or cliffs... u just have to be carefull or ule flip it
