Right click on the item you want to salvage and press Shift + r, seen as your an armor crafter you'll only be able to salvage armor, plus with 103 ac you won't be able to salvage items for much at all.
nope, salvage works off materials skills not trade skills so armour/weapons depends on metalworking, bows, staves, shields on woodworking etc.
Don't expect to salvege anything worth very much until you get a few more hundred points in skill.
The amount of skill you need depends on the items being salvaged. Generally you'll salvage an item for the full amount if your skill is high enough to start making items of the item's material.
So a drop that salvages for Asterite Bars needs at least 700 Metalworking to get the full value every time. If you want to then trinket it, you need 700 to be able to make brackets (without loss), 750 to make brackets at double speed or hinges (without loss) and 800 to make hinges at double speed.
Asterite is the highest material that most Albion mainland drops, and Darkness Falls items will salvage for.
