Salvage-O-Matic

Thanks to our hippy neighbours and especially Alrindel for making one fine contribution to the community

PS. Does Alrindel still play?

Ah not too bad - the alb (and mid - same thing) names would be nice to have as an option though.

Silly hibbies with silly names for metals :p

Quite surprised some crafters didn't know this page yet :) It's one of my favorite tools when I buy materials from others to salvage or to determine someone's salvage value.

I'm glad people have found it useful. Please note that the online version might disappear at any time, so if you like it and want to have it handy, save a copy of the HTML file to your hard drive - it should work just fine, it's all JavaScript incorporated directly into the page. Feel free to edit it and change the Hibernia materials to Albion/Midgard ones.

Note also that the value used to calculate the gold value of DF seals is based on the best value Hibernian DF items and is not exact for Midgard/Albion items (and for all I know has changed since I stopped playing). If you want to change the values of DF seals, modify lines 50-52 in the code. The formula used is this:

(cost of item in seals) / (metal bars salvaged) x 40.5

so using the following items to salvage:
Emerald:
Avernal Maligned Rapier (32 seals) from Dano - 22 diamond bars
Sapphire:
Accursed Demon Long Sword (25 seals) from Godo - 56 diamond bars
Diamond:
Infernal Malison Broadsword (15 seals) from Horto - 100 diamond bars
Emerald : 22 / 32 x 40.5 = 27.84375
Sapphire : 56 / 25 x 40.5 = 90.72
Diamond : 100 / 15 x 40.5 = 270

(40.5 because the base unit is tier 3, quartz)
