Suprised not to see this topic up here so I thought I'd start it.

To the mids attacking Bled over the weekend, utter respect.

Many a Hib gave a /salute in our cg after the epic battles we've had in the last few days. To keep coming back shows true grit and determination. The final battle at the lords on Sunday night was the greatest many of us had witnessed in DAoC. To be honest most of us have no idea how we held out, luck probably.

So no gloating, no /laugh just a firm and well intended /salute.

It was loads of fun in Odin's Gate sunday evening, too bad I had finally leave to sleep around 23 cet so never saw how it ended.
Sounds like I missed even more fun there.

Mids you did yourselves proud tonight - you made a couple of brave attacks against Bledmeer which we fought off - along with Albs later, but it was the 1-2FG who charged the Hibs when they had relaxed their guard later down the Bledmeer slope that turned the tide of battle - /respect.

We've had Bledmeer for a couple of days and had installed Central Heating, Soft Drinks machine and Table Tennis in the back to pass the time - we hope you enjoy them too.

P.P.S. In the Lord Room - I dinged RR6L5 - so I didn't mind so much.

Have to back up what trel said, the intitial suprise attack on us bored hibs tonight was astounding. We were idly chatting and spamming mushrooms in the snow when all of a suden less than 2fg of mids came from nowhere and owned us in a matter of seconds.

The fact we saw your lag ghosts and still were overconfident enough to ignore them just gave us Hibs even more of a lesson.

I've learned a hell of a lot of tactics from the mids and my fellow hibs in the last three days. So lets see if we can give as good as we got.

Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as us.

Was 2fg Bad Omen that camed and attacked u when u were chatting :) 2pbaoe + insta stun :) Was fun how many were u? :)
guess 3fg or so went poff and many of u tried to get inside but we got alot of u :) was fun, some were logging so we where gonna make a try on u and it worked :) and all the sudden we started with other mids bash on the doors and it worked and bledmeer got back to middi :) i died on countryyard when ppl attacked lord :/ No pbaoe or no much rp´s there ://
Was pretty good that we got both doors down atleast with 0 ram :p did u kill the 40 albs or so btw? Was 40is albs that got us earlier at alb side of amg...

I had fun. Damn good archers on top of the walls I might add. Do obscene amounts of damage to a troll.

We weren't exactly prepared last night, we took all the little Purple Warriors on an 'introduction to RvR' guild hunt. I was just there to provide the fungus. Heheehehe. Good fun though.

<flings own corpse at hibbies a few times>

Sunday night was a good night indeed... those bloody mushrooms are a pain in the arse though...

and cos you guys went and put up your own catapults, meant I had to build mine further down the hill than I wanted to... bah, couldnt target the lord room...

Yeah was about 1FG of us you wiped in that initial charge, and about 0.5FG semi afk left inside Bled - we were mostly about to log like you guys too. Amazing how those "just 5 more mins" can sometimes go on for hours! Think it was 3-30am we held Bled for last week when I kept saying "ok guys midnight - I turn into a pumpkin soon...gotta log...OMFG...Mid Zerg Inc!!!" lol!

<sigh> I remember when Hibs did that much spell damage with the Pow Relics - hopefully next time we get them (isn't you Rent due on them soon? :))

1.62 will see fewer Bolt Blocks too - nothing worse than maoving into view Bolt/QC Bolt and having "your target is in combat" only to get rooted/dotted => deded!

2.5sec bolt cast times will turn it into more of a gunfight with 1.62 too! My Gattling will be loaded ;)

I'm not sure which Mids saved Bled today, but to the Troll that sat on my corpse, you need to change your underpants desperately - I think it was Twinky and his TeleTubby friends....

We also tried to get our Animists to spell out FOR SALE next to Bled - would have made a cracking screenshot.

Spug - if you had seen the Treb defence we had earlier when they were manned - we had about 8 Trebs cranking out @rseGrapeShot - a Trel speciality!

As it happened, when you guys jumped us - and we also got ganked porting back the first time (same Mids or MM at HMG?), and by the time we got back, many Hibs had logged or were on their last Band-Aids ;)

I don't know what the Mid sentiment is - Hibs generally dont enjoy keep taking (esp. if defended), and don't come prepared with rams that often (which is a pity), but when we have good keep fights - at least they last more than 3 seconds which is my average life expectancy in RvR <--- caster.

Would love to post some piccies here like you can on www.prydwen.net/forum, but pop over and say hello on our forums - we are (imho) a lot nicer there than here on BarrysWhine where there seems to be a lot of /crowing and /flaming.

tbh trelway it was more then 1fg...
i Think it was atleast 2fg+ that died in that charge and we did try a little before to when we camed on road but was trieng to lure you out didnt work tho. But 1fg that died noway... Was more.. but what ever. I think atleast it was 2-3fg that died in that pbaoe charge and around 1group more that died either trieng to get in or when they camed out when we were busy some with guards.

And the time was not that late i think? Like 00-01.00cet? i think anyway dont remember correctly

As you say Blej it doesn't really matter how many you killed rather that it was a good tactic, but I did grab screenie, and as you can see we lost 3 in my group and maybe 4-5 from another - I expect the rest you mention up the hill closer to the keep, when they try to come out after kipping :)

I have another screenie I haven't posted where I (ironically) told the Hibs in the CG that you lot were just baiting us, that only Hibs would probably be daft enough to fall for it, and to watch out in case you charged us from the NW side.

3 miniutes later you did exactly that - and am only sorry I didn't listen to my own advice hehe! :eek:

Trel, we (Talon's Reach) tend to always carry a pault into rvr :) we're not big Emain fan's and only come out to play to retake or capture keeps with defense.

Not to say we dont have occasional strolls around Odins gate, just defeating defenders gives more satisfaction than running into a few explorers. (and you should see the healer killspam :) )

Oops sorry about getting the Guild name wrong Blej - You can probably see why i'm about the only unguilded player in Hib :)

Nice to hear you guys being honest about your tactics - I've been trying to get Hib enthusiasm up a notch or two as they've been a bit on the lowside - The better our morale, the more chance we'll give you guys a decent fight!

The recent Bled defences have cheered us up a bit, as they've lasted a good while, plus they've been mixed groups of older and less experienced players - One of the hardest things is to break into RvR for the first time and noone likes to feel useless. Since 1.60 improving Siege weapons has opened up the fun, as you can see from my Ballista v Treb duel with Elanza.

Most forums see everyone give advice and opionion - I am no expert - but I like to use screenshots to capture the things i've tried, and also when I died!

Spug - I wish Hibs did the same mate. We seem to have a pet-hate for keep retakes, and such arguments often break up Hibs groups faster than someone dropping one in a closely packed lift....

Well if you chaps catch some @rseGrapeShot or yellow snowballs in the head at the next Keep fight - just look at the label - they might be courtesy of yours truly!

Please do feel free to chime in on Prydwen.net for some banter - it would be really cool to see you guys post on our Hib threads too.

Svart - 100% agree - we can use Albs to fill in the snacky breaks between main meals ;)

contary to popular belief, I've even spotted the occasional alb using siege weapons too... Chicken Legion were using Balista's last time they took bled... but unluckily for them we had a three man pault team that day, all assisting on the same targets... add to that a few runies with ground targets, and hunters with volley... well... you get the idea :D
