Sacrificial Rites quest problem

Don't know whether this is in the right section but hey.

On the ToA quest Sacrificial Rites, I'm on step 3 atm and have killed 2 salamanders and haven't got any oil from either. The first I presumed it was because I wasn't close enough, so the second time I almost got beaten to death by it twice staying close enough, but I still didn't get any oil from it. Can't think of anything else. I thought it would be an automatic drop.

Any help/suggestions on what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

alot of the toa quests are bugged, if youre pet gets killing blow then it doesn't drop
