RVR Lag!

Argh

Ive been playing a Witch Hunter during beta, and noticed whenever we have decent size battles, I am unable to run into a group of people without my fps dropping to almost 0, resulting in certain death for me.

Ive turned all my settings down to lowest, and still seem to have this.

Just for the techs out there Shouldnt the below be capable enough?

I think yea, thats safely the MINIMUM requirements...but you want more ram and a better GFX, if you are on it trow a new CPU in..maybe a new MB coming with that all and you are set.
I noticed some GFX lag after playing 6+hours, might have been GOA in the background thou, they said it might get laggy. Overall the game was stable..just never alt+tab

You've got some quite outdated hardware there, really.

Try to run the test at Can You RUN It?, while it's not accurate, it might give some indication on how well your system should perform.

2 GB RAM is enough for WAR. The old 2.2GHz athlon might the problem, but which resolution do you play in ?

all it does is gather your system specs and compare them to the games minimum and recomended specs.
which we know anyway with the minimum at the bottom of the scale and the max specs on the box at the top.
they dont have any uber performance charts and they havent tested the game to see how well it runs....

its not like the game is very demanding either , my spare comp gets 40-60fps , 20fpa in scenarios and its worse spec than his amd64 3200, 1gb ram and an x800 .....

my main computer is e8600 , 4gb ram and a 4870 and i still feel the big fps hit when theres alot of players around.

maybe player models have alot more polygons than those of the AI but i doubt it

I got lag pretty bad in RvR - most of my casts were going off way to late by which time I was usually under heavy fire if not already dead.
As for PC specs mine is a
3ghz dual core
2gb ram
256mb gfroce graphic card
Win XP

So I should have been fine.
Out side of RvR ir runs a dream but last night I joined in the fun at the human RvR and thought my pc had took a break of its own.
No matter it was fun

There's a big thread over at the WHA forums about this issue.

It's nothing to do with the spec of most peoples systems, and could either be a hardware compatibility problem or an issue with the code itself.
Nvidia graphics cards seem to be a fairly common denominator with the majority of people having problems, and i'm also dropping to 5-10fps whenever there's anything remotely interesting happening.

For reference, i'm playing on:

E6600 @ stock speed
4gb 800mhz RAM (3.25gb recognised by WinXP sp3)
1gb GTX280
X-Fi Xtreme
WAR installed on 2x Raptor in a raid0 set
running the game at 1680x1050

I've been in closed beta since august '07 and never had a problem in any phase until patch 4.1, so guessing it's something they introduced with it.
I'm sure Mythic will be looking into it as it seems quite alot of people are having the issue.

I see a trait there..the GFX ram should be 256 or higher. A good system should have more then 2 gig ram thou, in my opinion and a GFX of 256+.
I have both and only started to lag after some hours allready playing and changing zones.
If all else fails, blame it on the ISP

I have 4gb ram, xp pro x64 and nvidia 8800gt vith 1gb ram.

My game runs smooth, until halfway through a rvr scenario and at the first screen with the serverlist.

There the machine almost hangs. Very strange, the game client just goes numb.

Happened after the last patch in OB.

patch problems aside, imho your cpu is the weakest link.
my advice is (if you are able, ofc) go and get c2d 2160 or 2180 and par it up it with some p35 motherboard.. that should come in really low price and you can oc 2160/2180 straight to hell in 2min so it's realy a great buy.

don't know where are you from or how much money (if any) you wanna spend, but just trying to help.

btw, wich hunter is rly kewl.. too bad it's on the wrong side !!!
