Short version: I am looking for seven other people who would be interested in forming a regular RvR-group. Specifically people who are either unguilded or don't do a lot of guild/pre-set RvR. I can fill the role of shaman or light tank.
Long version:
Hullo.
As one of Mids out there who's part of a predominantly pve-oriented guild, I have trouble finding balanced RvR groups. I'm usually forced to make do with totally random pickup groups. These are fine, sometimes, but the majority of the time you get steam rolled by far more organised foes.
I'm hoping this scenario sounds similiar to what a few other Mids have to cope with.
Well, recently, I've taken it upon myself to stop yelling LFG in random places, and start using /who to piece together a decent group. So far so good, but I haven't found many people who can stay in a gank group for a long time, so eventually the whole thing breaks down. I've built up a sizable friends list in the process, and can usually get together the essentials for a decent group fairly quickly nowadays, but a lot of people seem to lack the sort of heavy-duty commitment that I'd like.
And, well, that's where this thread comes in. Who'ing for people is great, but it'd be better if I just put the word out that I'm looking for 7 other people to form a regular RvR group. It works ok for PvE groups. Not a week goes by without a "Level 20-50 pbae group looking for members" thread popping up, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for RvR groups too.
My first question is, are people interested? Are there seven other Mids out there who would be willing to get together at a fixed time-slot every day/week and head out to smack people? You don't need to leave your guild or anything, I'm not trying to form the next MM, just stay as normal.. but meet up regularly with a set group to do group RvR.
This might sound like the dumbest idea in the universe to a lot of people but, as I mentioned, my guild doesn't actively take part in RvR. And I've reeeeaally enjoyed the time I've spent in groups put together by people like Blejs - much more fun than the utterly disillusioning shit that you experience in pick up groups. That's why I started trying to put together my own "balanced groups", but it'd be nice if I stopped having to do that all together, and the group was just *there* when it's supposed to be ;p
Ok, I'm kinda rambling now. If people are interested in forming a regular RvR group with some other people, then post below. Obviously, I'd be looking specifically for people that fall into the category of healer/skald/shaman/savage/berserker.
Eh, in retrospect this idea does seem kinda dumb, for reasons that I can't seem to put my finger on
But if there are other people that would be "interested" then I will make more details forthcoming, and we can go from there.
