A bit curious, how do everyone go about to identify what class an enemy is?

I know sorcs give themselves away the second they start to cast a mezz with the purple spelleffects.

but how about the other important supportclasses like clerics, healers, shamans how do you go about to identify them in the heat of the battle?

Healers usually run behind the fight away from the chaos, wizards are the ones lying down eating grass :D

if u go after the theurgist or cabalist instead of the sorc i would expect you to be hit with a mezz simply for running after the "wrong" caster.

clerics - mostly britons in chain wiht medium shields casting spells, very easy to find

healers - motsly dwarfs or norsemen with small shields that stays behind the battle and cast spells, a little tricky but I often find them.

shaman - no idea cuz i don't know what they do

Clerics = Chainwear medium shield wielders. They give themselves away soon as they cast as they put hands in front for cast gfx. Some try to be smart and use small shield though ;)

Shamans = Troll/Kobald wielding small shield hanging around at the back

Healers = Dwarf/Norse wielding small shield hanging around at the back (mend) + front (pac healers usually drive)

Spiritmasters = Kobald/Norse - Spirit pet next to them usually pb spec :x

Runies = Dwarf/Kobald/Norse - they don't have pets ;)

you get used to telling what each players class normally is :)

alb with instrument : mincer
briton with staff : might be friar
tin can : armsman or pally most likely, gimped either way
chain-wearing alb without an instrument : cleric
alb with a bow : scout
alb with 2 weapons : merc or inf
alb with a huge pet : cabbie
alb clothcaster with charmed pet : sorc
fireworks factory : wizard
pet factory : theurgist

don't know what reavers look like, can't remember seeing one that i knew was a reaver in rvr :S if you see someone with flexible weapons then its a reaver hehe

necros are easy to spot :) just look for the mini-df-knights

as for mid

mid with 2 weapons : zerk or sb
mid with a wolf bow and/or spear : hunter gimp
vendo : zerk
mid with no noticable weapon : savage (using greaves)
mid with a see-through friend : spiritmaster
mid with a big shield : cannon fodder (warrior)
mid with shiny feet : skald
norse/d0rf in chain and casting : healer
mid with staff and lots of pets : bonedancer
mid trying to look good by casting aoe hammers : gimpy thane

guess thats about it :) shamans are the ones that are found around the PK ;)

Epic armors = 100% giveaway :)

Alb:
Casting armored class with a medium shield = cleric
Most other are kinda obvious except the different casters as long as you keep track of what armor they are wearing.

Mid:
Dorf with small shield = healer(can be skald, but assume healer :x)
Norse with small shield = healer(ditto)
Troll/shaman with small shield = shaman
Anything with a staff and a pet = sm
Anything with a staff and more than one pet = bd
Anything with a staff and no pet = rm
Others are kinda obvious if you keep track of armors etc.

99.99% of the time clerics are females, makes it abit easier
caster aint hard to spot and keel

mids: just go by the names, tanks often use brutal names, while healers often goes with regular once :p
mid casters: not many around, but any kobold with a staff

you never gotten me :p gotta catch me first :p <cherishes 50% evade rate>

if it runs away when i get close then it's normally a class i'm supposed to kill first

too true, too true ;) if it runs then open fire :) if it dosent then be scared :D

careful not to mistake a caster for friar

<mutters something> bloody friars ;) used to catch me out before i knew about friars :) now i tend to be cautious around britons with a stick :) especially if its a staff with no curly bits :)

can also be a savage with buff bot, those are not nice to meet in bg....

.....yes i am talking from experiance, thought he was a unstealth sb getting rdy to eat dirt

i havent seen any of the si classes otehr then necros in rvr much due to not having played much since si was put on euro servers :p

i especially love mezzers or healers with some combination of 'mez' 'heal' 'buff' etc in their name

i love the ones that turn out to have nothing to do with healing or mezzing or buffing ;)
