Quite remarkable considering the game is not stocked in the shops or advertised in this country. Truly amazing.

I'm not actually a new player, im just new to hibernia. I played a Scout (waits for flames about being an alb :). Blade Master looks fun might give it a go, does it work a bit like a zerker in mid?

If you want a good solid char that is good in rvr grps id go a Sylvan hero with this spec :)

50 LW, 39 Blunt, 42 Shield and rest parry.

Good offensive and defensive abilites.

I loved my BM for exping, was great fun, but can anyone tell me where I am going wrong because my BM sucked in RVR with blade spec, and still sucks with Pierce spec. Should I of gone blunts or what? I am rubbish in groups or solo. Maybe I am just crap at Rvr (probably) but surely I should win some fights? :)

Spent about 20 seconds chasing a mage around trying to kill him in the last rvr I did and he survived. I ended up a steaming pile of nuked turkey :(

I think maybe I should of been a hero or a champion? :)

ps. Any tips with BM would be welcome as I really am close to giving up on BM for rvr.

spec 44 pierce (+10 i think including RR)
parry 45 (+12 including RR)
cd 39,
shield is 18 (ok ok i messed up a little but cant see this hurting me sooo much?)

Mate your parry is a bit too high. Also I would recommend taking your shield down enough so you get engage then stop. It's great for stopping those pesky archers shooting you if you can equip it in time.

I went Max CD for the CD style damage and the last part of the devasting CD side chain.

I don't understand this mass exodus to Pierce. I'm blades myself and I tend to outduel other BM's of similar RR even though our armour is slash resist and they pierce/blunt on me.

If you Monster bash a bit (for farming etc) Keep you parry pretty high (Mine is 40 for that purpose) and I take reds/purps pretty easy with some baseline buffs and maybe the occasional heal from my personal bard. Oranges don't stand a chance.

But to the original question - Everyone is making BM's at the moment. They are flavour of the month and as soon as Mythic changes something everyone will switch I suspect. I've been playing my BM for 16 months and I love him. Just pick something that you want to play, ignore the people who try to tell you what is 'uber' at the moment. Just have fun.

Biffsmash, bms absolutely dont suck in rvr, they are very good imo. But I dont understand why all ppl are yelling after bms cuz I get invites to rvr grps very rarely etc =P...

as spec I would say (the fotm spec but anyway)
50 pierce
50 cd
27 parry
10 shield

Thanks for the tips guys :)

I'll think real hard before deciding wether to re-roll another BM or just admit defeat :)

in responce to the original question- all class's can be effective for RvRing. Bards are always needed in groups if you want to play a support class, if you want to play melee then maybe Champion or Hero, there LW styles are very nasty
