RvR (A Noobs opinion :) )

I have only being playing the game for just over three weeks but so far it has been an enjoyable experience. I fell on my feet when I chose to be a druid, because of the fact that every group needs a healer :) Eventually I joined a guild, moved up through the ranks, and I am proud of the fact that I am a head officer in the guild. It is only a small guild, but we aren't afraid of mucking in and doing our bit to help defend our realm.

And it's the defence of the realm that we build our characters for right? :) As far as I can tell, each class has a role to play in an RvR situation. I am a druid, therfore I heal. Leave the tankin' to the tanks and the nukin' to the elds. I am quite happy doing my job, picking up the occasional RP and bounty point because I KNOW I am doing my job.

I have only just ventured out into the wilderness, as it were, and for the first few times it was a night mare. I spent more time eating grass and watching battles on "corpse-cam" than actually doing anything :) As my level gets higher I am starting to be able to stay in the fight longer, healing and rezzing fallen comrades. I have fought with and against a lot of ppl, ( oh and by the way I have a list of ppl to do. You know who you are :) ), and I have to say I always enjoy it. This is the reason I bought the game. If you are having those experiences, stick with it. It does get better, honest :)

My thanks to friends and enemies alike.!!!!!!!!

*Claps heartily*

Congrats Moriaana, you are no Noob merely someone who has not been playing long, there are a shed full of level 40 to 50 healers out there you could teach a lot to I am sure. I hope there are many more sensible new players like you coming through :)

corpse cam is kick ass

I watched a brutal fight on corpse cam the other night, it was wicked...hibs caught between albs and mids, some serious action. It was a fight like that, that makes everything worthwhile for me :D

It was wicked to be able to sit and watch some of the tactics employed by both hibs and mids as an observer, except for the troll that sat on my head to rest up...

Bein a puny mage with the disturbin habit of chargin blindly into the middle of enemy ranks i tend to spend a lot of time on corpse cam. It is a very nifty invention and as i tend to die, as i said, in the middle of enemy lines, i get to see a lot of lovely battles and long for the day when i can take part properly.
You see as mori said, all classes have their function in RvR, only problem is that mages are supposed to nuke stuff and the majority of people i met when i first went RvRin were super purp to me and resisted everythin i threw at em. :(
This meant i was pretty much useless apart from creatin a bit of a light show and diein in an amusing way.
However, havin said that, now i'm into my 30's i've started to notice an upturn in my fortunes. The other day i bagged my first official kill, an orange stealther no less, when they sniped my guild mate as i was takin him on a trip of the front. You know who you were orange stealther....well i hope u do, cos i neglected to notice in all my excitement. Anyways my point (yes there is one) is that some classes take longer to become usefull in RvR than others. Bards for example are handy for their speed song at quite low lvls and other healers are also a use at lower lvls, but nukers for one really have to be a bit higher as they are meant to be dealin the damage to the enemy. Constant resists or the occasional papercut of about 15 dam you manage to do are not really that helpful to your realm mates. I'm not sayin don't go, learnin your way around and seeing a few tactics in action will be good for u, just don't expect to take down half an opposing army single handed (ok, i admit it, i had these fantasies ;) ) and don't be discouraged when u die for the 15th time that night. Be patient, a mage (i'm talkin from my eld experience there may be a mage class that doesn't fall into this) will mature eventually, and when u do (i at least hope) you will strike fear into a lot of enemies for the awesome amount of damage you can deal out in a small amount of time. Yes you will still be flimsy but that's what u get for choosin a mage and u have to live with it. Anyway i think i've droned on for long enough  so will stop here :)clap:   )
But b4 i sign off i'd like to thank all the high lvl ressers who took the time to rez a lowly and pretty much useless eld and all the peeps who let me tag along to watch the fun. Thx guys, hope some day i'll be savin your asses :D
