Yes, you can, but it still could be better, I mean, why can't they introduce the perfect balance between the two?State of decay isn't really chance at all, with shooting improved(as one would expect instead of everyone being supersniper from day 1) and a rifle you can headshot every single time if you aim correctly.
This from a game that isn't a call of duty simulator
To correct that a bit; it's more closecombat shooting(which fits the game) and third person, can't really compare to first person.
But more on topic; i think rust is meant to be barren and let the players build the world, which ofcourse now is limited still.
But why doesn't someone pick up and make a perfect recipe of all 3? - EA could do it for instance, or are they set on broshooters/cashcows only?Probably due to game devs always concentrating on one key idea. Like with dayZ it would be better if it was more zombie oriented(then pvp), state of decay would be better if it had more FPS'ey things/tactics, rust would be better with pre-created content that could be added on. Usually down to time constraints, but also because someone has the idea and they get blind to other options outside that one until it's too late.
Much like with new MMOs where it's "gotta be wow like!" is often the norm.

The latter, whatever the console kids like this month really. Which is terrible shooters and shallow RPGs at the moment.
