Runy DMG buff stack with skalds dmg chant, how?

I have heard two versions about how the runemasters dmg buff stack with the skalds dmg chant.
Here are the two versions:

1. A skald got dmg chant on and I buff with dmg. Then both buffs are cut by half.

2. A skald got dmg chant on and I buff with dmg. Then my (the runys) dmg buff is normal and only the skalds chant is cut by half.


Wich of these versions are the true one?
