I know its best to max Sup untill level 26 for you PRF, but is it worth actually using this spec line as your main, as apose to RC/Darkness?

Im only supp spec. so cant really talk speek about Dark/Rc but i can tell you going for 50 in supp is a very good spec. With spells like confuse, pbt, mazing(speed decrease) you will not have any problems solo orange and even reds
Dmg is good cause you can cast 3-5 spells before you need to root, but usualy its already dead before(yellows).
PBT is good in any grp, so dont need to speek about that.
Confuse rocks, using this spell I was able to solo red named in malmohus but it takes some testing before you know hav the monster will behave

I would spec 26 supp, 47 darkness, as the lvl 47 darness dd does loads of dmg..It will be better if you follow the 26, 47 template and the 47 dd in one of rc and darkness does tonnes of dmg and is better in RvR both solo and in grps

I think i am going to go with the regular 26 47 temp, but I havnt decided which to spec yet both seem quite good, but i dont knnow which I favor atm, range or speed

No seriously Bolts get blocked way to much a nice darkness DD hits for around 500ish on a lvl 50 caster, with 26 supp you get nearsight with is very usefull on casters and rooted tanks as they cant see where to hit u .
An example was at odins yesterday a lvl 50 tank and caster. I rooted the tank everytime and killed the caster 3 times :/ dunno what he was doing but charging me with 1/4 health just rezed is not a good idea.
But i cast nearsight on the tank and rooted him killed the caster, untill my guild mates pet attacked the rooted tank and it was bye bye little rm : O (.

So, is darkness the same as light on Hib? because I have a light eldy i made not so long ago, and the damage that does is rather nice even at lvl 12, around 100 with my dds (2 sec cast) and rc will be void.
But the char I have is a dwarf, which (might) be not as good for darkness as a Kobald because of the dex, but u can get items to get it up a little prolly

You nearsighted the tank? Was it a hybrid with insta-spells or something? If not I don't think you've really gotten the hang of nearsight.
For the original poster tho, suppression Spec DD gets some love (dunno if it was this patch or the next and too lazy to check ) increasing the range to 1500 from 1350 so in RvR a full supp RM is very viable after that, it doesn't do quite as much damage/cast but it SNARES(veeeeery good thing) targets to 65% movement speed, and lets face it, if you're casting at a mage and you get the first hit you've usually won, but against a tank I think I'd rather go for the slightly less damage and get a snare especially now with purge and IP and whatnot. Considering the insane amounts of Cold resist that's obviously out there if we're to beleive the americans I'm not even sure you'll do that much less damage.
I'm seriously thinking about respeccing to 50 Supp when we get 1.52, only time will tell.

Aye the supression is still its lame ass range (sorry to say) so for the moment, i think i may aswell go for the 26 47 temp, but gettin 26 sup asap, so ill just max it to that lvl, might give it a shot in Thidranki ar 24 :>. By the time 1.52 is out (respec patch i think) i shall be able to get a wider range of opinians on the matter and also compair damage tables of spells etc to find out which i will benifit from the most :>

Hey, im 47dark / 26supp (are you bloke I spoke to in IRC?) anyways.
In RvR this does me very nicely, yes alot of people have cold resist, but recently after RA's I've been hitting most people for 350+ a shot, sometimes as high as 450.
If people got uber cold resist it can go into the low 300s high 200s.
Make sure you get PBT though, very good in PvE and good in RvR aswell.
But at the end of the day make sure you go with what you want. Best to read the ign mystic boards for help (link below).

..tbh ns is nxt to root and I hit 4 instead of 3 then quickcasted root..but my quick reflexes saved the day...errr

It really does sound like a good combo, but as I said befoe, will my being a dwarf effect it? becuase its a dex based spec line

Just a quick note on the screenshots, Drakulvs are naturally vulnerable to Cold. I'm not saying Darkness is bad, just that you shouldn't expect that kind of damage in RvR or even against all mobs

And why not nearsight a tank at that point? Just rooted = he can still use range attacks (Armsman = Xbow, Hero and merc = Bow) and with ns he cant interupt ur casting

Because contrary to popular ALB belief Nearsight still takes time to cast, time the enemy caster SHOULD have put to good use, since he just rooted the tank the tank will still be interrupted due to an attack the next few seconds(welcome to caster-hell ). But nm, I just thought it sounded funny so I wanted to ask that's all. I've nearsighted tanks in my time too

When you root you always move back a little to aviod any spells , At least I do
+ the more inexperianced players tend to think root is mez and dont try to cast, Which I always like

Our bolts do miss but not that often.. not for me anyway... the DDs are fine, and spears are lovley... the bolts are really great in rvr though if u do hit you do major damage!
i often kill lvl 50 casters in 1 hit, if not a 2nd bolt or DD wil easily finish them of.
i love RC!
